What hours are you running Mush?

Maybe you need to kick back a few hours and open a bit later. Then down the road when you have a solid base of customers send a flier of some sort to the tables and ask if they would like to see you open earlier than you are.

Opening later will also give you more time to relax during the day.

EDIT: just saw you open at 11 AM. For reference once my doors get ready to open our hours will be around 5PM- 2:30AM.

Yea, but mush serves food stuffs from the deli next door, so people can go on a lunch break get food and have a nice smoke

Yes that is true. However, I have been to multiple hookah lounges during the lunch break and early afternoon and maybe 3 tables were being used. Lunch is just not a smoke time for majority of people.

Just food for thought. Because if you do not make enough profit during those hours you will lose money to your elect. bill and others.

I also think for the fact that he will be working all those hours that he saves his Soul now by not overworking himself. I mean 10 am till 3 am is a long day.

ohh that blows.. what about one of those vaccuum attachments that I've heard of some hookah bars using? Hook it up to a lower power vaccuum, and turn it on.. sucks air continuously until the bowl is going..

Yeah, my lounge doesn't open until 7pm. We started out opening at 5, but soon realized that was too early. Honestly, we could probably open at 9pm and it would barely matter, because the few groups that come in between the early hours of 7-9 would just push it back. Hookah is an "after dark" activity for most, so in the summer your crowd gets pushed back that much later.

Even if you do get busy during the day (and no matter how much you love your place) you will probably not be able to mentally maintain the schedule you are on now. Sleep and relaxation will help you run your business more effectively in the long term :-)

Glad to hear things are going well for you man. If you can make it through the tough summer months, you should have a good buzz going for you when school rolls back around.

Well, I'm caught up now! lol Anyway, you open earlier than hell! My local lounge that I like is open 7 days a week from 8 P.M. to 3 A.M. I would love to go for like lunch and a smoke. It's in a reallllllllly rough part of Tampa though. Like people die there every day. I'd move the place if I were them. Oh well. Hope your specials pick up mushrat! Hire some poor sap to start the bowls for you and hire them at minimum wage. Part time. That way, you can do some, if you want, and they cand do some or all! lol I'd do it wink.gif

It was supposed to be link within www.colorado.gov to their section on doing business and getting beer, wine, and liquor permits. I'll try it again.

http://www.revenue.state.co.us/liquor_dir/...p?incl=license3

I'd start with there and see what it says you have to do.

Thanks - gave my city counsel a call and they said that you had to apply for an exemption if you sold tobacco and liquor and you needed to be in business a minimum of 1 year before the ban went into effect. Soooooo, I guess we'll do it in the next biz venture. Thanks.
