yipiia Posted February 6, 2007 Share Posted February 6, 2007 I'm pissed! About one or twice a month I'm allowed off base to go into Kuwait City to 'play'. Among the menu of places to visit is a very low end mall (Al Souk Mall aka. City Center Mall). The mall has no redeeming value at all, and is nothing more than a collection of middle eastern type "dollar general" stores; Not to mention the whole mall is pink (I’m serious).But sitting outside this mall is a two story strip that houses 6 Shisha bars. And 1 Shisha Supply store. The bars pretty much all have a differnant appeal. One is upper end with leather couches and geared towards business men, one is more of a gaming/nerd type bar, my favorite (Havana Café) is kinda gritty with giant screen TV's on each end playing middle eastern daytime TV and a hip laid back crowd. (If I was in the US I would think it was a gay bar). It had a real good vibe to it, the staff was friendly and there was always a Pakistani man coming around offering hot coals. The only problem is I had to limit my shisha to Apple, because that is all the server could understand. (note to self: learn the Arabic word for Apricot). Well, to my horror I made this journey yesterday only to find that all the bars had been closed and taped over as though a murder scene had happened. From what I understand, this is only temporary. It seems that a couple of the bars had young Philipino women working in them (which culturally is a NO-NO). Well..hopefully in a few weeks they well open back up. I already picked some up, they are at my house right now ready for work. HAHAH that is funny as hell though, you should definitly learn something other than Apple. I all the bars they have over here the hose and the pipe are color coded to match a flavor...so the hose you use only pumps one flavor. Is this common in US bars?
