ronald_dooley
Hello all,I just purchased a new KM, and I measured from the base of the tray to the top of my phunnel bowl: it's a good 8 inches! Needless to say, that is way too high for most conventional wind covers.Do you guys have a suggestion? I want to try a wind cover, but I don't know of one that will fit.- Ronald
SimplexCoda
Well the wind cover doesnt have to sit on the tray. IF you dont want the top of the windcover sittin on the bowl directly, then you can buy a couple of extra pairs of tongs and arrange them on the tray to make a base for the windcover to sit on. You can ask canon of snoopy for pics cause thats what they do. But as for a wind cover that will sit on the tray and be tall enough, The only thing i can think of is to make one. use like an old coffee can or something. ryno
I use a Tanqueray gin tin with some holes in the top, and it works just fine for me. And considering that the tin is 12+ in tall, you should be good with that

As for balancing a windcover on a pair of tongs sitting on the tray... I can already see that leading to disaster. Hmm... I'll have to think about it. SimplexCoda
You dont balance the windcover on a pair of tongs, you take 3 pairs and make a triangle and it becomes a platform for the tongs.
OC4111
you don't even need 3 pairs of tongs. one will do. take a look at snoops video and you'll see how he sets it up. I have a really large pair that go from one side of the tray to the other. i layer them across and rest my taj windcover over them. Also, there's always this windcover: http://hookahcompany.com/extra_tall_wind_cover_3138_prd1.htmhere's snoop's video: http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=20991
fifthmanstanding
cut a long length of AL foil off the roll, and wrap it nicely (length wise, not width wise) around the bowl to make a cylindrical shape. easy access from the top, coals won't move laterally. Codename067
Buy a really cheap wind cover, and customize it to make it longer. thats what i did.
indian_villager
You know your typical red beer cup? The large solo cup. Take a sheet of al foil and contour it around it. you are going to have to mess with the top to make it smaller but that is easy enough. It just sits on top of the bowl not on the tray and it works like a champ!
Giant Ninja Robot
I just watched Snoops videos (Thanks BTW great job) and just wanted to say, wow thats a fat cat. When i use my phunnel i just sit the cover on the rim of the bowl and it doesnt seem to work right (improper air circulation?) so i'll def be using the tong method from now on. hookah hippie
The tong method is quite easy I was thinking about buying one of those metal coffee tins and cutting it up a bit I think that might work really well
Snoopy1966
The Tong method.....ftwlol my cats are fat. They like Hookah though!!
liquidglass
personally from the tray to the top of my med. phunnel bowl is more than what a pair of tongs can correct. So personally I just leave it sitting on top of the bowl, it fits perfect
Voski
I always use the tong method!
