cypherkk
sounds like you are using way too much heat. It seems to be a common problem with beginners. They want big smoke hits right away, use too much heat, burn it or just taste the coals.make sure when you light your coals, they are completely red. If its still black you may taste coals. as it burns the external layer of coal. Most people who use 3kings use one piece, split it into 3-4 pieces spread equally around the bowl edge. as you smoke more and the coals get smaller move them towards the middle. The more heat you use themore likely you will get big smoke but small flavor. Heat also varies depending upon the brand. I myself do not like round coals. managing heat seems more difficult, and theres a lot of coal flavor. I prefer square quicklights or naturals.I don'[t like havana, kind of bland if you ask me. Layalina can be faint flavored too if you are used to a stronger flavored smoke. Try Fumari ( veryexpensive) or even better fusion or starbuzz (again expensive) but you get what you pay for. DOn't get me wrong I like and smoked layalina in fact they have my favorite plum and fig yum, but it is... mild and coals can easily overpower the flavor. Look up some topics on heat management. It is the most important part, and have a little patience, sometimes it may take a few minutes to get it smoking properly.

Bryantos
Just curious, but do you have a metal tip at the end of your hose? I find that those limit flavor enormously, and they give off a weird taste.Do you stir your shisha before you pack your bowl? Try to get a good amount of the honey/glycerin/molasses on teh shisha. Too much will be a bitch to get going, though. Also, try washing out the stem. New hookahs can have a weird taste to them. Make sure you have enough water in the base, also. I've forgot to put water in my hookah and I didn't get any taste, but plenty of smoke, lol.Layalina has plenty of flavor. It makes up the majority of my smokes. What hookah did you get, by the way? MechAnt
It is very likely that the hose is still very new and absorbs a lot of the flavor. Smoke through it several times. Your hardware is top notch and can't be topped by much else (Gorgeous MZ, SS bowl!). 95% of hookah failing in some aspect is user error.

MechAnt
You, know, some people just don't taste hookah at all. try taking a break from it for a couple days then try again
Milk With Pulp
Bring a friend over, pack a bowl and see if maybe your taste buds are gone. You may have lost them for some reason.have a freind smoke with you and ask if he has any flavor is so your taste buds are F******ED up
Bulldog_916
Exhale some through your nose. Usually I exhale the last bit of the puff out of my nose and that helps. If you have any allergies or anything similar. I get great taste when I smoke, but if I'm recovering from a cold or allergies, I dont tend to get any flavor. The nose is one of the core components of taste.
Hookah_Bob3
I'd be betting your taste buds are dead. Give them a week to revitalize
oolatec
And curl your tongue up so the tip of the hose hits under it... you'd get more flavor that way. There's no way your hardware is bad. Believe me.

NoPeace
if my tastebuds are dead then so are all of my friends tastebuds as well from Cali and maryland. Its so stupid I don't know war I'm doing wrong. Its like if the shisha is not burning then it still has no flavor or smoke. If its burning at least it has smoke. I dunno wats up. Can someone make me a how to prepare a medium social smoke bowl? I would most appreciate it.
staygone
Prepare it like any other egyptian bowl, we used one 3kings 33m for coal, That's hella wierd if you guys can't taste it. I smoked an SS bowl on an Oracle with Fantasia blueberry yesterday, and it was very flavorful using the standard egyptian packing technique.-QM

I'm not sure if I know how to pack with such a shallow bowl. I'm concerned I might be packing it too loose but I would like to see an example. Twang
Try the following:Pack more shishaBreak up your coal into 3-4 pieces and put around the edge of the bowl. You said this only gives you thin smoke? Okay, do that and put a wind cover or foil hood over the bowl. (Take a piece of foil and rip the center of it, then put loosely over the bowl. This will help with even heating.)Try taking the hose out and sucking from the stem, to see if it is the hose or not.Let me know what happens.
