It's very recent (when DoctorHookah.com started selling it). You are right in that it copies a variation of the Al Fakher Solid hookahs, however. But still, it varies enough that I would be suspicious. Yes, the Chinese are getting damn good at copying legit Syrians, and it's quite disheartening, because it means folks are more likely to purchase junk thinking they're getting something of quality. Yea Another Suspicious thing about this and other pipes from Dr Hookah is that they are being labled as Al Nawras. While If you look at the hose adapters and purge valves you can see They are not even close to any existing Nawras or Nour Syrians. It is very disheartening to see this happen. Makes it even harder for me to want to sell any of my 3 Syrian Pipes. So far only my Nickle plated Nour is on the market. BTW what do you think of those new painted syrian pipes that 5 star put out. Those look pretty suspicious too. Also they look ugly. Also the Nickle Syrian 5 star has that is similar to mine has diff purge that looks almost Chinese as well so the fake Syrians could be on many vendor sites and not just ebay... :-( The ones UH sells are clearly Chinese. Even it that rumor is not true, Syria is in no state to be exporting hookahs at the moment. Haven't seen the ones 5Star sells, but if they're painted then I would pass anyway. :P In all honesty, I would be suspicious of anything labeled as Syrian or Al Nawras these days... And I have not been impressed with any that have popped up lately. The older "vintage" ones that are confirmed Nawras are the best, followed by the unknown brand ones that are often labeled as Nours (Nour is an importing company, and retailers here didn't know wtf to call the pipes, so they just called them Nours). Hookah-burgar Posted June 4, 2013 Share Posted June 4, 2013 Now, some of us know that I bought that pipe, as well as the one with wood on the stem and antique patina, from Doctor Hookah. I made video reviews of both pipes. As for the Golden Anaconda, it is ok, but nothing special. Most important is that the golden piece is not brass, it is painted or rather plated a golden colour. It is also thicker metal, but not completely solid. The downstem is stainless steel or galvanised, as on many KMs and as on the one with wood and patina, which I believe is hollow brass (except for the downstem). Pipe is Syrian for sure, as is the one with the Antique look (which is very nice indeed, but quite light) and as are sthe ones which screw onto the vase shown earlier on this thread. As for the maker, I cannot say. Finishings are ok, not as on my Nour / Nawras Karakol, but better than on Egyptians. On a side note, who knows how many Syrian pipes still lie in warehouses in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Israel.... I have read many times posts stating that You would'nt find any Syrians in Israel, yet I saw plenty of them there. They probably travelled via Jordan...
