GavotteGrey
Hi. I've been lurking around the fourms for awhile... thought I'd put my two cents in. With Social smoke you'll be pleased with their hookahs and service... the hookah bar I work for uses them as their wholesaler and we have many SS hookahs, I even have one myself for parties. I would avoid anything with an ice chamber just because they are known to leak after time and in my years of smoking, the best results you can have with ice is by putting in the vase water. I think the SS hookahs are high quality and stand up to allot of usage, perfect for a 1st hookah... no leaks. I've had problems with the air valves falling off over a year of Heavy usage, but I doubt you'll run into that problem. If you had a little extra money, I would also suggest buying a Mya hookah - I believe they are definatly a step above at least in the looks department. Avoid SS's wrapped wooden hoses, they have a huge problem with collecting lots of coal dust... if you do plan on ordering from them as well, buy one of their new medium sized bowls. Wonderful, large, wide-mouthed clay bowls that I've become a big fan of. They are just so perfect, very wide, and not too deep. You won't waste any tobacco with em'.Shisha is pretty much a hit or miss with people.... what one person likes vs. what another likes is a totally diffrent experince. Tangiers seems to be pretty popular these days... the only problem that has is heat managment. You need to be on top of that... for best results I've gotten with Tangires myself and with customers is if you mix it with something less strong. My personal favorites are:Al Waha StrawberryLaylina Rasberry - Mix with Watermelon - sooo good.Al Amir Blackberry - Good with a pinch of lemon for a great flavorTangiers PassionFruit - Mix with strawberry for a nice head buzz and major flavorTangiers WatermelonTangiers Pinapple (Don't miss this one, the best of it's kind the market) Really f'in good with Laylina's delicous mangoAl Amir Honeydew Melon - Mix with peach for delicious fluffy cloudsAl Amir Guava - Mix equal parts with Orange and Passionfruit for a delicious Pog-juice flavorAl Amir Orange - Mix with a pinch of Laylina Vanilla for a nice cream-sicle flavorAl Waha Double AppleLaylina PeachLaylina MangoRomman StrawberryAnyhow... that's my 2 cents. :-) I think allot of people will reccomend Starbuzz, but I personally don't like what I've tried from them.. but, whatever. Happy smoking! Edited March 31, 2007 by GavotteGrey
Kingsofronin
i definately second getting a mya.they are the best hookah's on the market.with the shisha, starbuzz is the most popularshisha in the united states, but smiley's is anupcoming brand that will probably soon givestarbuzz a run for its' money. i highly reccommend smiley's naughty cowand smiley's bubbleberry. web250
SS makes great hookahs. I'm not too sure about the ice bucket feature, you hear very mixed things about them, but the hookah itself is good.In terms of tobacco, my personal fave is Layalina, which I know SS sells. Their berry flavors are superb
ASUSEAN1
+1 for layalina. it is a good tobacco to start out on, and you will continue to love it

I personally thought it was the worst flavors Ive tried. But mango it very hit-or-miss.Speaking of which, what are some good mangos? I was too afraid to order any at all, even Al Waha. I'm awaiting my first order. To the poster, I would suggest getting something from H-S (hookah shisha). I've heard mya's and syrians are VERY newbie friendly, and I would agree. But, to be a hypocrite, I bought a 4 hose egyptian. I hope you enjoy your mya!
imagelessdude
Ive tried HH mango, Layalina mango, and AW mango, and to me they were all putrid. But Al Waha was the least nauseating. I say STAY AWAY. and Ill bet theres people on here that agree.

GavotteGrey
Yeah, it's pretty much all in the line of personal taste I think.... See, I didn't reccomend Cherry for the very reason it makes me gag... not to mention the Kasmir blends tangiers sells. I think they are absolutly vile. Some people like them though... Bleh. Out of all the mango flavors I've tried, I'd have to say Laylina is the better of the bunch. I like mango with the new tangiers pinapple, it's incredible... the flavor that is... thick, fruity and a decent headbuzz. Mango Blackberry is also pretty tastey. :-) Edited March 31, 2007 by GavotteGrey
GordonMac
IF i were were you id look at hookah-shisha.com--- I think they are a good company and have great quality hookahs. Hookah company and mnhookah are great aswell.

Panther
Thanks for all the advice everyone. After all the mya advice I'm now looking at the mya vortex on hookah-shisha, which is growing on me even more than the other. One question I have though is this site doesn't offer the layalina or starburst flavors which so many of you recommened and mentioned. Would I be alright sticking with something else? Based mostly just off of this forum, I was looking at a few Tangiers (maybe the watermelon) and Al Waha (after nine?) flavors, but as I said before I don't really know what I'm doing. I also noticed a few people said Tangiers can be kind of tricky, and I'm not positive I would even recognize if I had it right. Blueberry sounds kinda good too but I don't know which brand I would want. Anyways what I was mostly wondering now is if I would be alright sticking with the shisha on hookah-shisha, which would be convenient, or if it would really be worth ordering shisha from a different site in order to try to layalina or starburst types? Once again, thank you for all the input.

Allia22
It's not for everyone. For instance, I like candy flavors and can't stand the smell of the AF rose I got in 2 months ago.
