Golden Canaries or Fumaris you don't have to deal with a coil burner. Just set the new coals on top of your old coals.

I am with you.

Every time I try that I end up being a fireman before that session is over. Inevitably at least one of the coals goes under some piece of furniture, and I end up ripping the stem out and throwing the contents of the vase all over like some crazed irrigation system.

I can only imagine the bitching I would hear if I pot a scorch mark on the DA's Mpingo floor. Yep, that would be a good weejk to go check out the hunting cabin.
