zymerholic
I just got my MZ Safari hookah last week. After smoking 2 bowls it seems as if the bowl has cracked and broken where it attaches to the stem. Should I bother contacting gothookahs.com for a replacement? I realize this is not their fault, but they should be willing to back up their products. I guess it's also just a good excuse to get a glass jet phunnel bowl from mnhookah.com, but I still wouldn't mind a replacement clay bowl for solo smokes. Snoopy1966
Phew, at least it is only the bowl. I was worried when I saw the title. That sucks that it broke though, better off to get a Phunnel, but contact them and see what they say. I have a ton of Egyptian clay heads that have never been used if you want to buy some from me!! peterjmag
Were you using any sort of rubber gasket/grommet between the top of the stem and the bowl? Clay bowls break rather easily if they're set directly on the metal of the stem with nothing in between. I know that's probably obvious to you already, but I figured I'd check at least. zymerholic
There's a grommet on the stem. I had a funny feeling about the bowl since I took it out of the box. The glaze didn't extend to the base of the bowl where it attaches to the stem, and sure enough that's where it broke. Not sure if it's a connection or coincidence. lauralister31
Seroiusly you want a replacement bowl? Egyptian bowls are basicly throw away bowls. You really should not ask them for a new bowl since it arived in good condition. But rather like Snoopy said just buy an upgraded bowl. I am sure they do not have those bowls just laying around. Most dealers I have talked to get them with the hookahs and thats usually all they stock is what comes with their hookahs or whats left over when someone upgraed. I would vote don`t be a hassle customer and just get a new bowl.Thats just my 2 cents.
zymerholic
"don't be a hassle"? We'll it is customer service, or so I thought. I worked retail for a few years so I understand the whole being a bother thing, but I smoked out of it 2 times. If it's meant to be a "throw away" item they should have suggested an alternative when I purchased the hookah. I wasn't expecting a clay bowl to last 4 days. Not even gonna go into "being green" with all our "throw away" products, but if it suits you then cheers. Been using it for about 5months.You might of put to much pressure when placing the bowl on the stem or the bowl was already cracked inside without you noticing it. mattarios2
yah I love my egyptian bowl, every session is a great session with them.
Pilgrim
This has nothing to do with being a hassle. If a product is broken after two times use, and it's not because of your own stupidity, you have the right to ask for some kind of compensation.. And clay egyptian bowls aren't trow aways, I have mine for two years now, still works fine..

My Egyptian bowl is amazing i hardly smoke out of my phunnel 80% of the time its out of my egyptian. And also ALL wholesalers have extra bowls hanging around. How do you like you can buy extra bowls? And smoking out of it two times and it brakeing and asking for a new one or one at a discount is HARDLY being a hassle!
Stuie
clay does get structural weaknesses. I have had Egyptian clays last forever and some break after the first set of coals. Had my Super Bowl break after 2 sessions and it came from England... that was a bummer, got another one on the way though.

I ususally smoke out of my small phunnel, but thats because theres usually anywehre from 2-8 people smoking with me. If I'm by myself, Egyptians are very nice
