Anyone Tried The "new" Exotica Coals?

Recommended Posts

I just got a batch of what I was told were going to be the new Exotica finger coals. I'd heard they were going to be scored or something to make them easier to break. The ones I got looked like the old ones. No grooves, no notches, no nothing. I asked someone in the know and they said they were making them "easier to break." Is it me or does that sound like they are making them softer and therefore less dense and less long lasting? I.E CHEAPER material wise?

Anyone else noticed a difference between the old and new Exoticas?

I haven't used exoticas yet, but i was planning on it, but if they are making them less dense and cheaper, I may just pass.

so there are 3 versions, ones w/o the bar code, ones with the barcode, and now the newest ones right?

How can you tell they are the newest ones that are supposed to be scored any change in box design etc.?

If the newest ones are the ones w/ the barcode then I notice no difference, but if there is infact a 3rd version I can not comment.

we have a new order of exoticas coming in this week, i wasnt told they were changing the exotica's. as far as i know they will be the exact same.
i did hear they came out with a new exotica coal that has a silver coating (which sounds like jap. coals) japenese coals seem to always have the groove in it so its easier to break. maybe thats what they are referring too.
also, exotica is supposed to have a quick lite coal coming out.

i may be misinformed though.
if the exotica's are different when we receive the shipment i will let you know

I know my supplier said the new ones would have grooves to make them easier to break...I'd actually heard that from a few places actually.

Of course, I'd also heard that there was a new formulation for the coals due as well...

So who can tell with the rumor mill that is the underside of the hookah business.
