Lighting Charcoals? How Is This Stove?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to do a transition from quick light coals to naturals (wanna try exoticas) and I have been trying to decide between a nice torch lighter from h-s or buying an electronic burner. Well i found this burner at walmart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...5871070#reviews) and was wondering if I should use that over a torch lighter. I live in a frat and have no kitchen to use for lighting coals so what do you all recommend??? Thank you!

Sounds terrible. Apparently it is low power....

I have that exact one. Use it for Exotica coals and does the job fine. Only problem is that since the surface is basically flat, when you turn the coal you gotta blow on the side that was just on the bottom for a bit to get it glowing red.

I'd suggest gettting the coil type portable stove. Last week I was shopping for one and went to walmart, target and then super walmert and couldn't find a coil type stove... ended up buying a flat plate stove like the one in that picture. When I took it home I turned it on and noticed it was real slow...sure it would light exoticas but it would take forver to do it. The next day I went to sears and noticed they sold the coil type and picked one of those up. the coil type was MUCH MUCH better. Much faster and heated better. All I got was the 750watt model but I know there are models out there with 1000watt and some even higher. A 750-watt coil type portable stove works great for coals. You could use ifnger type coals without them rolling off like they would with the flat plates.

target is suppose to carry it but not all of them do. The only portable stove they had near my house was the flat top type. If your lucky you can find it there.

If you dont want to deal with all the hassle (that I went through) then just order it from Nazar Hookah.

I will have to go check out Target. I will be getting my Exoticas on the 26th. This is good info for me because the only naturals I tried is the Romman lemon wood. So you think it is better to get the little burner then using the stove top coils then? It does make a mess all over the stove.

Yup, I got mine at Nazar Hookah and boy is their shipping fast, especially since I live in Hawaii. I tried the flat burner at Walmart and let me 2nd what Rayver said. It indeed does take too long to get it to light, I tried lighting some 3Kings QLs on it and it just took ages. I returned it the next day to get my money back and to order the one from Nazar Hookah.
