40thieves
So fo' real - I like to think that I know a thing r 2 bout settin up a smoke but for the life of me I can't get Tangiers to be enjoyable. I've tried low heat, high heat, the mod, the phunnel. This things bites like no other. I've read people say it takes a couple of sessions to get used to it but I'm not buyin' it. I've tried most of the popular flavors and they smell great but there is extreme harshness. Somthin I'm missin?
ASUSEAN1
try mixing it with another brand such as layalina...this will help a lotalso, try cutting the tobacco up with a knife, eric says it doesnt help but i swear by it (mush does this too with tangiers)
Sonthert
If the smoke is thin and harsh its likely that you are not putting enough tobacco in the bowl. A natural tendency is to spread the tobacco out when it goes in the bowl. Try stirring the tobacco and flavor real well and then putting a glop in the bowl...keeping it the same density as it was in the bag, move it around to fit the bowl. Foil, poke lots of good sized holes. Blow through the end that connects to the hookah the airflow should be easy, but not too easy. It should be about the same as blowing through a drinking straw in terms of resistance.
mushrat
You can also have the man himself come and show you how, Fly him in, have him give a demo for your bar. Heck, his fee etc can even be a business expense...
art_official
just pile it on into the bowl dont spread it around, millions of semi large holes work nicealso keep the heat on the edge of the bowl. this works for me everytime, despte what bowl it is
Scheetz
try mixing it with some other tobacco. Go like 60% other brand 40% tangiers. The tang will over power with a flavor but it wont allow it to burn harsh. Just make sure the other tobacco brand isnt nakhla or another really dry tobacco. It needs to be moist like starbuzz or layalina.

I dont plan on carrying tang at first because my market doesnt have hookah experience, but after summer I want to. 50/50 cost mush???

McDarragh
Also try a foil spacer (Alfoil curled into a circle works fine then put another layer over it and maybe ice and a diffuser? Might work might not i havent personally got my mits on any of Tangiers stuff...... yet
HAHkoo
it could also be that tangiers isn't for you haha, but i don't wanna imply that, one thing that eric said was you really really really need to pack a much bigger load of tobacco than what most people are used to. tlmasonaea
Also, Tangiers takes some biological acclimation of sorts. It is a little more harsh than other shishas, so don't expect your esophogus and/or lungs to be prepared for it right off the bat. That's definitely a problem I have with bringing others into the hookah world now that I've switched to primarily tangiers shisha. I don't smoke anything else because Tangiers is all I need, but it's a little rough for newbies.BTW, Thanks Eric!
