The Seventh Seal (Det sjunde inseglet)

Directed By:        David Cronenberg
Screenplay By:   Cormac McCarthy

Soundtrack:        Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross

Daniel Craig        Antonius Block
David Bowie        Death

Gerard Butler      Jons

James Franco     Jof
Mia Jovovich       Mia

The rest of the cast are bit roles, so they don't really matter much, but I think I would throw in Tom Waits somewhere. The overall tone and theme of the story is what needs to remain the same, just turned up a bit (other options for director were John Hillcoat or the Coen brothers). I'm also aware that Cormac McCarthy doesn't write screenplays, but the tone and themes of his books matches what this story should be about. The people I cast for the main roles sort of match what the original cast was like, vibe-wise, with the exception of Death. I wanted something different from him, and Bowie is always awesome.
