Al Fakher Strawberry (regular)
Setup:
Nargila: Mya QT, standard hose and bowl.
Coal: Natural Lemonwood coals heated on a butane stove
liquid in vase: Tap water, no ice or additives.
Bowl packing: Left 2mm gap (or thereabouts) between the rim and shisha. 2 layers of foil, large amount of holes pricked with a safety pin. Fairly packed in. I prefer 2 layers, coz it really limits the ease of burning the shisha, even if it takes longer to heat up.

Cut: Typical Al-Fakher cut. Very fine, absolutely soaked in juices.

Smell: Has a distinct coconut scent to it, with the strawberry scent present too.

Smoke: Being an incredibly juicy shisha, it took me a good while to get it going (could have been the two layers of foil too). Typical Al-Fakher smoke, just the right thickness (above average in my books).

Flavour: Distinct Strawberries and cream. Consistant, smooth and sweet flavour that was a hit with my guests too.

Buzz: definate Nicotine presence. Took a while, but once the thick, heavy draws were coming, the headspins werent far behind (and im no lightweight)

Rating: 9/10. A definate hit, would have liked a slightly more strawberryish flavor but still fantastic all the same.

AF Strawberry

Setup:
Mitsuba w/ mod bowl and mya hose
Coal: 2 3K
liquid in vase: Cold water from fridge dispenser.
Foil: 2 layers, lots of small holes poked with a small nail.


Cut: Seemed very fine. Very moist.

Smell: Friend said that it smelled like those campino strawberries and cream candies, and he nailed it!
Smoke: Threw 2 coals on the edges and let it sit for half a moment and then it was going in no time. Very smooth, cool, and thick.
Flavour: A candyish strawberry. Definitely has the presence of something buttery or creamy.

Buzz: Going to have to agree with the above. I'm used to smoking unwashed, and I'd get a nice buzz every once in a while with this.

Rating: 8/10. Could have used a bit more strawberry, a bit less cream. Friend really enjoyed it.

AF Strawberry (Not golden)

Setup:
32 inch Steel Hookah single hose.
Cold Water, plastic washable hose.
2 pieces of hot red natural coals, fully heated through.



Tobacco is extremely moist and juicy.
Very red.
Very easy to start, smoke was extremely tasty and sweet, comparable to inhaling strawberry mist...if that's possible. Lasted almost an hour.
One of my top flavors of all time.

liquid in vase: Water (1) Water with ice (2) 50% Water 50% sunkist (orange soda) (3) 30% orange schnapps 50% sunkist 20% water + ice (4)
Bowl packing: Light, but full. Experimented with different bowls.

Cut: Very fine. No bad things in here!

Smell: Smells a bit like strawberries, but has a more .. bland smell as well.

Smoke: Very great! Thick and easy!

Flavour: Tastes a bit like strawberries. Has another taste to it too. Kind of like cheap strawberry yogurt. Wasn't too tasteful, but didn't taste bad. Good for mixing.

Buzz: Buzz was semi-easy to get.

Rating: 6.5/10. Was expecting more flavour... The rest was perfect.

Setup:

Cut: Very fine. No bad things in here!

Smell: My dear Watson, we have mint!

Smoke: Very great! Thick and easy! Very minty!

Flavour: Tastes strongly of mint! It was great. Smelt of ment too afterwards.

Buzz: Not as easy to get as the strawberry, but it was easy enough!

Rating: 9.5/10. By far, my favourite maasseel so far.

Bowl/Foil: Mya standard, regular foil, many big holes
Coal: 1 3K with windscreen

Smell: Coconuty, creamy, not very strawberryish 6/10

Taste: Very creamy, a little bit of strawberry. I can definitely see where JD gets the coconut. Personally, I thought it was rather enjoyable. 7/10

Smoke: I didn't put enough heat on it, though I was still getting fairly thick and white clouds. 8/10

Buzz: Not strong, but what buzz there was was due to holding it in while blowing O's.

Overall based on scores: 7/10
Overall based on enjoyment: 8.5/10

Al Fakher Cherry
Setup: Same as before.

Smell: Cherries! Maraschino cherries, like cherry candy/lollipops. 10/10

Taste: Tasted very similar to how it smells. First cherry that I've tasted that is actually enjoyable. 8.5/10

Smoke: Didn't have enough heat with 1 3K, so I added a japanese square, still wasn't enough heat, but I didn't really care to light up another, but was still getting fairly good clouds, but I know they'd be much better with more heat. 8/10 for knowing I wasn't getting enough heat and still getting decent clouds.

Buzz: Same as strawberry

Overall based on scores: 9/10

Al-Fakher Strawberry

Time to write about one of my favorite smokes...

Setup: MYA mini-orb acrylic 2-hose, medium MYA ceramic bowl

Coal: Starlight QuickLites, 33mm, 1 at a time, 'The Bird' brand hookah foil, 12 holes.

Appearance: VERY wet, bright red shisha, good looking cut, no stems.

Smell: Smells like strawberry jelly. Mmm.

So I setup the bowl and this stuff is gooey and wet as hell. I knew before I lit up that it would be hella thick smoke. After the coal was lit, I set it on and this stuff was smoking within 5 hits. Huge clouds, very nice.

Taste: Very rich taste, very sweet, but didn't taste like natural strawberry, kinda candy strawberry. Not a problem for me though

Clouds: Huge, thick, fluffy clouds. Simply amazing, the amount of smoke this stuff made.

Buzz: Not much, but there was a lil bit.

Duration: Smoked nice for about an hour 15min, then it kinda died.

Verdict: 8/10, good stuff, easy to setup and smoke, mainstream flavor, great for smoking with friends. Good hits and good taste, mild buzz. Lasts a decent amount of time. Thumbs up, I will purchase again.

Al Fakher Strawberry (From Awesome Sponsor Hookah-Life):

Setup: Mya Bohemian, ice water in base, tangiers medium funnel bowl with glass mod, 4 jap easy light coals.

Smell: Sorta strawberryish, not as sweet as HookahHookah strawberry

Cut: Medium, very red and very wet.

Smoke: Nice and thick, good for blowing O's

Flavor: Pretty good, wasn't incredibley impressed but it works.

Longevity: I smoked for an hour and a half and it could easily have lasted for double that.

Overall: 8/10 - flavor wasn't as good as i'd like, but besides that a great tobacco.


EDIT: SECOND TRY

Setup: Mya Bohemian Two Hose, Water in Base, Medium Funnel Bowl + Mod, 4 Jap Easylights, Added Glycerine (bad/unneccesary idea)

Cut: Same as before, red and wet

Smell: Slightly better, more strawberry smoothie than strawberry candy

Smoke: Thick. White, block out the sun, cover your face, thick. Great for O's, as our group attested to.

Taste: Very Very good strawberry. My friend's grandmother and mother came over and tried it, and both liked the flavor. Thats as good a sign as i can think of!

Longevity: We used one set of coals for about an hour, and could easily have smoked for another 2.

Overall: Moved it up to a 10/10. If you like strawberry, this is a great one, and the group agrees! Edited June 18, 2007 by Calcartman

AF Strawberry

Setup: 19'' Junior, iced stem and base, egyptian head, mya hose

Coals: 2 real Japs

Appearance: Red, moist and wet, falls in the bowl nicely. I'm guessing a medium cut.

Flavor: Very good, almost creamy, like strawberry cheesecake.

Smoke: Thick and flavorful. Totally awesome.

Length: 2 sets of coals, about an hour and half before we had to pack up. But...there was absolutely no flavor loss.

Overall: 9.5/10 Not the thickest smoke, but awesome flavor, forgiving with heat, moist, and solid. This is my new go-to brand.

Al-Fakher Strawberry

Setup:
Hookah: 19" Acrylic Mya
Bowl: Mya bowl
Coals: 1 1/2 Three kings 40mm split 3 ways
Water: Iced water

Cut: Very moist, cut finel,y barely any stems

Smell: Smells just like strawberry jam so good.

Smoke: Thick, slightly harsh but maybe that was because i was using too many coals, but mainly smooth, never gotten such big clouds off of my hookah and didnt know it could get that thick



Buzz: I got buzzed within the first couple of hits a really good buzz too, don't know about everyone else who isnt getting buzzed but this was a great buzz.

Flavor: Comparing this to the last brand of strawberry i had which was alfazl or something, this is probably one of the best flavors ive had. not an overpowering strawberry taste but a good enough amount to make you want to keep smoking more, and doesn't make you feel sick afterwards like some strong fruit flavors do.

Longevity: 1 hour +

Comments: I was only smoking fumari before this and thank god i stumbled upon this forum and read about the AF reviews, AF blows fumari out of the water.

Al Fakher Strawberry

Setup:
Pipe: 21" Egyptian from eBay
Bowl: Small clay bowl
Hose: The POS that came with the hookah
Liquid In base: Cold water

Smell: Smells slightly of strawberry jam, but not in a particularly pleasant way. Not a very nice smell.

Taste: Nice flavour, although hard to pinpoint what it was exactly. Had an almost 'fluffy' quality to it. Not very accurate, but I liked it.

Smoke Thickness: Wow. I had a bowl of Havana Grape before this, and the smoke was thin and crappy. Put on a bowl of this, and was getting the thickest clouds I have ever seen. Absolutely awesome.

Buzz: Great Buzz, much more intense than what I was getting from the Havana.

Duration: Flavour lasted maybe 25 minutes, smoke was still very thick after the flavour had died.

Overall: The flavour is pleasant without being delicious, the smoke and buzz are both beyond reproach. Overall it is an 8 out of 10, and I would definately consider gettng a tub of it.

Smell/Flavor: Yummy! Lol it smelled a lot like strawberries, but like the artificial candy kind.
The taste was very good but this tobbacco kind of lacked it. Itw as still good though

Cut: Semi finely cut and it was very wet

Smoke: Nice and thick!

Buzz: Got a little buzz when it started up but then it went away in a few minutes.

Amount(approx)/Duration: About an hour and a half

Hookah Type: 14 Inch Blade Junior Emerald

Bowl: Apple Bowl

Foil/Screen: Reynolds Foil (Double foil)

Coal/Amount: 1 Starlight coal. It did the job and it tasted incredible!

Liquid in Base: ice and h20

Overall satisfaction (scale 1 to 10): 9. I'd give it a 10 but the flavor is a little vague but still good. It wasn't as powerful as I liked it to be but it was still an overall great flavor! I recommend it!

Smell: Smells good, just like strawberry sweets. 8/10

Smoke: Reasonably thick. 7/10

Buzz: Nothing significant, but not interested in buzz.

Duration: About 45 mins. 7/10

Flavour: Poor, was very weak and had almost a plasticy taste to it. Not very nice. It did become more tollerable after some time though. 2/10

For me its all about the flavour, so have to rate this overall: 2/10

Rating: I would give it 7/10 not the best AF flavor I have tried.

Appearance: medium cut, drier then some other brands

Smell: Strong, very realistic.

Smoke: Thick!

Flavor: real good! better then Nakahla strawberry even! It was a sweeter, lighter flavor.

Buzz: Slight

Duration: Taste the whole time, did not fade. Lasted for over an hour with two coals.

Overall: 10/10...I am impressed!

Smell: Sort of like a chocolate-ish, cream-ish strawberry smell to it.

Taste: Tasted like a strawberry milkshake. Creamy strawberry taste to it.

Smoke: Huge clouds.

Buzz: Only slight, didn't felt much.

Duration: 2 hours. 2 sets of coals.

Overall: Well, I wished that it would taste and smell more fruity instead of cream-ish. It's not great, but not bad either. 6/10

Smell : Smelled like a fruit roll up, very sweet and candy strawberry

Flavor : Its not bad but personally i need a mint or something else to weaken the sweetness on this, wayyyyy to sweet for me

Buzz : Ehh i hadn't smoked in a week so a little one.

Clouds : Big white fluffy clouds

Duration : Just over an hour

Overall : It was decent but to sweet and candyish for me, i think i would enjoy it mixed with af mint.

Appearance/Cut: Standard AF, medium sized leaves, few stems, very very juicy, heavy red dye

Smell: Smells like strawberry and cream - a hint of coconut maybe

Buzz: Slight buzz, only after smoking for a while - practically nothing

Smoke: The clouds were pretty big but not as great as other AF flavors I've had

Taste: Great taste, pretty much like it smells. Does not taste exactly like strawberries but more like a strawberry and cream candy. Also, the taste mellowed out as I kept smoking

Length: 1+ hour,

Overall: 7/10 It's a pretty good flavor, I could smoke it often but not one of my favorites.

Overall: 8.25/10. This is a pretty good strawberry flavor. Haven't had many so it's hard to compare it. Smoke really well and was quite smooth. Would recommend it and will pick up some more in the future
