Johnny_D
Right....To 250g's on Nahkla I normally add around 38mls of glycarin and about 8mls of natural clear honey.Mix the CRAP out of it and leave it to soak in for at least 24hrs.Mix like hell again, and then smoke it. Works for me every time.JD Edited May 9, 2008 by Johnny_D
Scoop
i add glycerin. most of the nakhla here is way too dry and its not supposed to be that way
NickReppinThe909
jd im not a fan of the glycerin flavor when added to shisha would i be ok with your same formula but with molasses instead of glycerin
theotherone31415
why would nakhla make it like that? is it designed to be smoked in some special, dry tobacco way?
NickReppinThe909
thats actually a really good question theo but i still need the nakhla king JD's opinon on molasses instead of glycerin
Scoop
i read somewhere that nakhla thought in egypt was extremely wet and juicy.
mushrat
QUOTE (theotherone31415 @ May 9 2008, 03:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>why would nakhla make it like that? is it designed to be smoked in some special, dry tobacco way?well, nakhla was the first of the commercially availible shishas i think so they have been pretty much making it the same way since around 1986. It does tend to be damp rather than the wet stuff we are used to. It also takes a higher heat to smoke properly than any other tobacco I've seen. If you want wetter Nakhla try to find the jars instead of the boxes. It's not really made to be smoked in any sort of special bowl or anything. Just a matter of finding the heat thats right for it. ZenSilk
Because it comes all the way from egypt, going through all those different temperatures and humidities, and it's probably not packed the best either. Then it comes here and people rather smoke Sb or Fantasia so most Nahkla sits on the shelves forever. Try to get it in the glass container. Much juicier. The Sheherazade line is wetter and more flavorful in my opinion, only much more complex flavors then the Standard Line.
billy
My nakhla is dry too, I just take it out of the wrapper and mix it all with my hands or a fork, then just smoke. I dont add any glycerine

ZenSilk
Well we answered your question basically. It is dry, so you could add glycerin but most likely the flavor would be dampened. Molasses is MUCH too viscous and sweet to add to nahkla, i don;t see that coming out very well.

Johnny_D
Never used pure molassis......The honey removes the glycarin taste - and letting it soak seems to remove any flavour - give it try
