He hasnt smoked out of it in about a year, and since i started to use hookahs, i figured i might as well use it for my self. But there is one big problem... There is so much build up of stuff that i dont know if i will be able to save it. I was wondering what would be the best way to clean it. Can i use soap? If not, what should i use? There are many of us that do not like the fact that people see our hookahs and automatically think its something that its not. It’s just not right, and although the rules are strict they are for a reason; we don’t want people to persecute the majority because of the minority. What you guys/ your brother do is your business, and we respect that. We just don’t want it to give us a bad reputation as a bunch of junkies that are worthless. It’s quite the opposite. This forum is full of awesome people, and I suspect that is true for many hookah enthusiasts! To say it short I guess, there are not too many rules on this forum that are not standard ones on most, but that’s the big one, because it portrays us all in a negative manor, even if it was just your brother. Welcome to the forum! As far as cleaning your hookah, I recommend lemon dish detergent. But any damage done to your hookah may be permanent and I would be weary of using it anywhere but your house. I understand what you are saying, i just didnt think it was a problem as long as i didnt say i was doing anything illegal with it. Stinkyfisherman Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 well now that all thats over with... try and get a cleaning kit for that bad boy. that should help and if you go to any hookah shop you can find stuff that helps you clean it (i forgot what its called.) Im going home tomorrow, and hopefully ill have it clean by the time i come back to college on sunday. Ill let you guys know whats going on, because im sure that i will have a few morer questions. thecoalition Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 bling, mr. green, formula 42x, etc. all will be good to completely degunkify it from pretty much everything. other than that a bit of vinegar and baking soda in hot hot hot water soaking for a couple hours will do just as well. Just ad a bunch of sale with some alchol and shake it like a baby. It will come clean then wash it real good to get the fumes out and smoke away. I think thats its all moldy or something. I got rid of most of it, but the stuff in the corners just wont go away. The base wont fit because it (looks me like it anyway) a thread on base....but you might be able to get a grommet for it, as Ive heard you can do with the vortex stem which looks just the same and pretty much is your stem. I tried that salt and alcohol thing. I let it sit for about 10 mines, i come back and theres almost nothing left in the base (i only fillied it up about 1/2 an inch), and there was alcohol all over the counter. Must have been something to do with it being acrylic, and not being able to handle the mixture. O well though, it just gives me an excuse to buy a nicer base... I also ordered some Al Waha raspberry, mint, and orange cream, along with a few other small things. The smell from when my brother used it is about 95% gone, but im sure once i smoke it it should be fine. I just hope that when its shipped to my dorm that they dont freak out...Thanks for everyones help, and sorry about the misunderstanding in the beginning (ive learned my lesson).
