Hey everyone I'm still a noob when it comes to my hookah, but I was wondering if there was any differences between the quick lite coal and natural coal...I already know there is going to be a difference in lite speed...but any comments are appreciated..thx

there was a thread on this very recently, you should try the search button smile.gif
but ill give you some info anyway cuz im nice!

i use both quick lights and naturals, the quick lights i use are 3 kings, i use those when im inside and i dont have access to my stove late at night, i can tell that you get a chemical type taste from those. natural coals im not sure which everyone prefers, i have a random brand somewhere dunno the name but those take longer to light but i get no taste out of those, they ash white and it goes everywhere so if you use those indoors either get a windcover or only use them outside like i do, all in all if you have a stove or a torch i would go with the natural coals.

Bah, ash everywhere is pretty much unavoidable. I took my hookah to an anime club meeting, lit the first set of coals outside, ashed as carefully as I could during the session, and still ended up with a fine layer of grit on the host's side table. He made me take it to the kitchen when I lit the second set of coals indoors and sparks rained on his new couch... I felt absolutely terrible sad.gif Usually their heat makes them start floating upwards before they hit anything, but not this time... T_T

i honestly think the japs take AWHILE to get the silver shit to flake

there is nothing QUICK about those quicklites...

I mostly agree with ya. I usually light my coals over the BBQ, and the japs take around a half to three quarters of the time it'll take to get a whole natural coal to light. Despite any convenience the quicklights have over naturals, the taste difference leads me to take the naturals any day.

i would go natural over japs...but plenty of people like japanese better for the convenience and they dont think it hinders the taste at all...but we all have our favorites

so if you have a good torch or access to stove get naturals or japs

if you want to smoke on the run or just use a lighter then get 3ks or golden coals or something of that nature...i usually opt for these cuz i never know where im gonna take my hookah
