1. Could you possibly repost that video? I have a vortex bowl and some Tangiers but no Phunnel bowl so it would be a great help. Also does this packing method include Tangiers Lucid or just Tangiers Noir?
2. yea most starbuzz flavors are more candy flavors and can be quite sweet, if that is what you are looking for starbuzz and brands similar to it are going to be what you are looking for.
3. yea having personal experience with pumpkin hookahs 1 3 kings is too much, you can either split it in half or let it hang off of the bowl a bit, though be careful if you let the coal hang off the bowl a bit, the trays on those hookahs are usually very small and not very useful so if the coals fall nothing really is there to stop it from hitting your table/floor. Also very little water is needed in those hookahs and hitting them hard is near impossible without either burning them or getting water in the hose. Pumpkin hookahs are a bit tricky/temperamental but once you get the hang of em they can smoke rather well.
4.
Helpful little tip I found useful: damp paper towel grommets. They may not be pretty, and you typically have to do them every other time, but the seal on them is better than any plastic/rubber/silicone grommet you can buy. Just lightly dampen a paperl towel strip, and wrap it around your hose or bowl port, insert. Works like a charm.
So true, I use damp paper towels as grommets for hoses bowls and bases
5. Update: Clorox works wonders in cleaning out this base I had from a friend of mine. I knew I needed something strong cuz there was 6 month old mold just chillin in there. My mom suggested Clorox and I put some in, filled the base with some water until it reached the mold and I let it sit there for about 40 min. When I got back it was floating in the clorox and I just poured out the base and washed it a bunch of times to make sure no clorox was left in the base. Thanks for all your guy's help.
6. I agree that this article is SOOO biased, but then again its an Opinion article. I guess this guy has a really strong opinion against hookahs and he is genuinely concerned about negative publicity of it on Porsche's image haha. Anyway its pretty cool Porsche is making a hookah, though it is too modern for me, I am more of a man who enjoys the classics.
7. Hey everyone its been a long time since I have visited the forums, I hope everyone has been doing well. Anyway so recently I was cleaning my hookah and my vase was upside down to let it dry after I washed it out, it kinda tipped over and rolled off the counter....My heart sank as I watched it roll and I was too far away to do anything . Anyway I need a new base and I was also rummaging through my hookah parts and came across a base my friend gave me a while back, it can work for one of the extra stems I have but it is REALLY dirty, I mean god knows what has grown in it over the years, i tried to scrub the crap out but the vase brush just wont reach as it is on curve of the "bell" of the base. My first question is what can I use to leave in the base that will break up the crap that is stuck to it so it will actually end of up clean, I think I need something heavy duty as it looks like the stuff has been in the base for a minimum 4-5 months. Also I was matching stems and bases that I own and I was able to match a stem to a base I had lying around but the problem is that the down stem ends up really close to the bottom, I do not know what to do as far as the water level so any advice on that would be greatly appreciated. and one more question, while i am ordering a base online I have decided to finally take the plunge and buy some Tangiers lucid, I was thinking Mixed fruit Indian summer but I am not sure yet, any advice on flavors that are light and good for the summer time? Anyways thanks a bunch for your all's help, I think I may stick around for a while and actually become active again now that my life has calmed down a bit haha.
8. Typically if I end up at the hookah bar its after a night at the club or bar, and I almost always dress to impress when I go out there. Otherwise its just whatever I decide to wear that day
9. Wow I have not been on in quite a while... Anyway I have 4 of my own, mainly because I got them from friends who didn't want a particular hookah so I took em in. Also I like to have more than one because I usually like to smoke my own and when I have company they need hookahs to smoke as well. As far as ghosting, I just clean em out real well if I was smoking a strong flavor, that is mainly because I have a favorite hookah right now so I want to smoke out of it all the time.
10. You could try 3 kings quick lights, though I dont know about your opinion on quick lights. All I know is that they last generally about 30min and if they are still lit and you run water over them they disintegrate into a powdery water solution.
11. I have also noticed that in the process of getting juices in the base the juices tend to get on the rubber grommet and if you have to take off the bowl for any reason the seal is not as tight as it once was, with a wet paper towel you don't have to worry about that anymore. I use wet paper towels because they provide a better seal IMO and they are way more versatile. I use them for my hose ports and bowls and sometimes between the stem and base, although I have to use duck tape or grommet first before putting on the wet paper towel. Wet paper towels FTW!
12.
Yeah, true about head vs hose grommets - the narrow hose ports can't take them at all. The bigger ones can, but I actually feel the wet paper towel seals better
I so agree with paper towels working better, I think they conform better to the opening. Also the thing I love about wet paper towels as a bowl grommet is that when the liquid leaks form the bowl (when not using a phunnel) the paper towel absorbs the liquid, this way when I have to take the bowl off to change flavors or blow the stale smoke out of the bowl I can put the bowl back on the stem with no issues, I know that with a rubber grommet if the liquid is on the grommet it is harder to get a good seal. This is of course for all the male stems. Anyway, paper towels for the win, best thing period.
13. I will, and thanks for the tip on where to get the Tobacco, I may pick up about 2 kilos of Mizo haha. I cannot wait to get back to Beirut, the nightlife, the cafes the people...I fall in love every time I go.
