  1. Definitely the best hookah I've smoked from. No buyers remorse here.
  2. Today I bought a brand new hookah, something I haven't done in YEARS. The one I have been using all this time started having cracks in the pipe that I didn't notice for a while, until I heard some sloshing around within the pipe itself. Seems to have then created a mold problem where every time I smoked, the next day the base would have shit floating around in it. I thought maybe it was saliva or something from the hose but I never remembered it being an issue before (since I clean the hookah and hose often). Well, I had let it sit out to dry for a couple days when I left town and when I came back, I could see the mold growth. I've been smoking from my 3 hose since I found that out. Not ideal since I had to modify it so I could smoke from it (blocked one of the hose ports completely, added a balloon with a hole on the other for a purge). It's a cheap chinese hookah and I'm not a fan of it but it's been getting the job done I guess. So I got an email stating a discount on the hookah I've been eyeing (plus an additional discount code) and I jumped on the opportunity. Looking forward to getting it hopefully by the end of the week. I think I have a base that will fit it...I hope it fits, otherwise, will be waiting even longer when I have to buy a new base. I'm super stoked! Been wanting this one for a while couldn't bring myself to buy it until I saw the discount.
  3. Reddit is filled with a bunch of idiots lol
  4. I will also try now I miss seeing all the activity here! Especially all of your insight.
  5. I wish this place was back to what it was years ago. Actually...I wish the prices were what they were years ago. Just need a few more people posting on here to make me wanna check it a couple times a week or more.
  6. Awesome! Glad to see TH is getting the site back working. For a while there I couldn't even post new threads (probably other people's problems too), so I just stopped coming...esp without seeing the old faces around here. That's too bad, this was quite active back in the day...kind of miss seeing it active. Maybe they should send out a mass email letting everyone know the site is working again, TH is the new owner, and possibly a special coupon to TH on the next order.
  7. Is this ran by someone different now? Or is this Adam?
  8. That's really weird, not sure I've ever had that problem. It sounds like you may have a juicy tobacco and that juice is spilling over the foil (you are using foil right?). I can't think of much else besides maybe you are blowing into your hose and somehow blowing the water up the shaft putting the coals out. That's the only time I've had that happen to my coals...either that or using one of those fancy things to put on your bowl instead of foil and has it's own windcover type thing built in...those things make the coals go black and you only get like half a smoke sesh out of it. So when I light my coco's, I wait until the top is the only thing black and that's when I flip it then keep it on that side for another 2 min or so.
  9. This site has been broken for years...but I still come back and check and it looks like some things have been updated and if this actually posts, it means that things have been fixed as well (as I couldn't post in 90% of threads and I couldn't post any threads at all). Anyone else from the old school days still coming around?
  10. Testing this here...didn't want to lose the information since I can't seem to make a topic and didn't want to just let this go. Guess you could say this is a "drunken ramble" when it really isn't but hey...this site is broken so f*ck it. I know this place is dead but thought if some of the old members came around here looking for new content, it would be cool to see what you guys would say. I'll try to link the articles I've come across but for some reason, they aren't in my history any more. So I always had a suspicion that tobacco smoke would effect the microbes in our gut. Turns out, I was on the right path, just not much research done on what strains it kills. It shows that if you have any sort of irritable bowel, crohns, or colitis, you should avoid tobacco smoke for it makes it worse. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26981632 (this one actually says smoking is beneficial to ulcerative colitis...surprisingly, but horrible for those with IBS and Crohns) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24636140 ( In addition, smoking is associated with a distinct alteration in the intestinal microbiota both in patients with active Crohn's disease and healthy subjects. ) I added the emphasis. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3432200/ (this one talks about epigenetics and methylation. If you aren't up on the newest trends in research, epigenetics is how our genes are expressed, namely, you can change your genetic expression...either for the good...or the bad. The biggest movement right now is learning about MTHFR and all these genetic variants that come along with it and you can get yourself tested at 23andme.com but would be good to give that data to a practitioner who can put that raw data into a program which uses algorithms to tell you what is going on based on your genetics and what you can do to positively effect them. MTHFR and the variants refers to ones ability to methylate, or in other terms, detox. While I know I'm in the minority about vaccines and not giving them, if you *are* vaccinating your children or yourself, you really need to get tested for MTHFR. There is a high correlation between this genetic mutation and autism, brain damage, or other damage in the body after vaccination. Don't play russian roulette with you and your family, get tested so you know if your little one's bodies have the ability to remove the toxins included in vaccines. Anyways, this is talking about how it can disrupt the genes involved in methylation, switching those bad methylating genes *on*, leading to disaster in the body, not just in terms of the smoke being detoxed out of the body, but *all* things bad that you eat or are exposed to in your environment (Flint, MI anyone?). This is probably one of the more scary studies I've seen in regards to tobacco smoke, imo. I know there have been a few women in here in the past, or the guy's wives who have continued to smoke hookah while pregnant, this is also talking about how you can switch those poor methylation genes on for your child in utero.) That's about it for now. As I find more, I'll post if people are actually interested in this topic and come back and discuss it. Otherwise, this is just for archival purposes for those looking into health concerns in regards to hookah.
  11. This place dun died. :(

  12. What up mane? I see you've last checked in a couple of days ago. How are things going? You hanging out on any other hookah sites?

  13. Does that include shipping? I may be interested in the pico and saucer. I love my pico so I'm thinking I'll want to have a back up just in case
  14. Room temp allows you to know quicker whether you are burning your bowl or not, which then can make the bowl last longer and better flavor throughout.
  15. I noticed this when I moved to a smaller, closed room. What I have found to help it is I got a portable air filter and I put it on high while I'm smoking and leave it that way until I no longer smell it. It also helped to keep the door open while the filter was going but that has been tough due to my 1 year old daughter always wanting in that room...so I try to leave it open over night while we are sleeping to move the air around better. Prior to me smoking in the small closed room, I never noticed the smell linger like I do now.
