sagrr Posted February 12, 2008 Author Share Posted February 12, 2008 yea i made sure everything was perfect. loosened up the tobacco really well and used a little rod to make sure there was a path from the holes in the bowl to the holes on the foil. then i blew through the bottom to make sure. MechAnt Posted February 12, 2008 Share Posted February 12, 2008 Al-waha burns easier than other brands in my experience. It tends to be a little more temperamental when you add heat to it. Other brands are more tolerant to heat so adding coal is a relatively common fail-safe. Try using a different brand, I'm sure your smoke would be a lot better. SupremeOstrich Posted February 12, 2008 Share Posted February 12, 2008 What kind of coals are you using? I used to get the same problem, thin smoke and bad flavor because of quicklites. Not simply because they were quicklites, but because I just slapped them on the bowl when they stopped sparking. So I guess i'm asking if you let the coal completely ash over before throwing it on.
