[/quote] What you need to do sir is wrap it with electrical tape and slip a silicone or mod grommet OVER the electrical tape wrap, I've had to fit many a syrian pipe this way to match them to bases with larger openings, it will work if you mess with it long enough to get the right amount of tape on it evenly. Most of the non Chinese glass is not perfectly round and the opening sizes are not consistent. If you have a smaller grommet, you could always apply a few layers of electrical tape on the stem (as someone mentioned above) and re-apply the grommet over the tape.
