Answer- Ron Paul and his beliefs. I think they could change things around. Too bad its unlikely he'll ever win...

this is a truth, i think what brought meover was somethingi was reading about him wanting to audit the federal reserve or something to that extent
Ron Paul says a lot of great things, but Bernie Sanders actually took the initiative and took care of it. Just last month, the law he pushed last year finally went into effect and came to fruition with an audit of the Federal Reserve.

In the sad day topic, did you see obama defend biden calling tea party members "terrorists"? He looked like a complete idiot (again). Once the pres is down to defending his VP calling the public names by saying there has been worse said about him. (obama).

Low class

embarrassing

not the behavior one has to have to be a president.

Hat's off to the blonde lady, she made her point, and the pres had no answer but squirm and resort to the "they did it to me" tactic one expects form a 12 year old. way to go mr president. No wonder those poll numbers are staring to look like jimmy carter.

He's a politician. Ergo he's an idiot. Concrete boots. Lake Michigan. Case closed.

I agree, Iain. Doesn't stand a chance. America isn't ready for politics to be like reality TV.

Yep. We gotta take it one step at a time. Next step: First woman president. Then we'll talk about what comes next.

The market just dropped 300+ points this morning, some analyists say we are headed for Depression 2.0. The Eurozone is in deep doo doo, America is stuck and the "new" nations, the BRICS gang have growing economies. Nothing either party says makes any sense these days. Rick Perry just denied climate change while Texas swelters at 100+ and is experiencing a drought of almost dust bowl proportions. Denying climate change these days means you are pro business and against cost incurring methods to lower carbon emissions. America will stay powerful because of her military, but I'm afraid the average American is in for some really hard times.

Methinks the panic may be intentionally caused. Remember that every time a transaction takes place, whether it's a sell or a buy, the broker (Wall Street) gets paid a fee. They're making a killing off these swings. Gotta kinda make you wonder if they aren't intentional, don't it.

Hmmm never thought of that. Its just a feeding frenzy and we are on the menu! Nobody dare say a word, either. I read an op ed saying thats S&P is basically using this mess to increase their power over government and that they rated sub prime junk as AAA for a consideration. All this noise about patriotism, but no one lifts a finger while a nation gets bled dry.
Here's the Op ed http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opinion/2011/08/20118189725152731.html

I know there are soooooo many people screaming about the economy sinking further, but I'm sitting in my new office at my new job and I have over a dozen construction projects to bid in the next 10 days. With a half dozen more opportunities popping up on my smartphone every single morning around 6:00 a.m. Both public works and private projects, so something is fishy as all hell with the "stories" about the economy. Construction hasn't been this busy in five years, and I'm so buried with projects to get bid and general contractors calling me about getting on their bid lists for what's called "budget bids" that I won't see over the pile of work on my desk for a month. Construction has always been the early warning system for economy. Assuming this isn't a fluke, there is definitely light glaring from the end of the tunnel and it ain't no train.
