Ali-Baba

Nice friendly place. The owner "Ali" is very helpful and likes to chit-chat. The place is new and a bit generic. No couches, just tables.
There is a small nook called "The Kings Room" that's more traditional Persian, but not very comfortable with hard wood benches with thin carpet.
Ali is currently making pillows for the room. He seems to like my suggestions. I hope the one about the belly dancer happens! :blum1:

I'm going back on Friday with a lil' cutie and I'll update!

Went to Ali-Baba's with Amber tonite. She had her first taste and enjoyed it! We smoked Blueberry flavour. We chatted and smoked for 3 hours.
We looked at the large collection of hookahs for sale. Ali is a wholesale distributer and orders them from the manufacturer. The tall ones were like $75 and the minis were $18

I can do that at my age. If your girlfriend was 1/2 your age she'd be 10!

Went to Ali-Baba's tonite. The place is improving! The menu is much better with a Turkish flavour. I would highly recommend the Ali-Baba Platter for two! Hummus, grape leaves, tabouleh, falafel and a cheese pie and spinach pie. Very tasty! Tonite I tried Al Fakher Mint with Lemon flavour...very nice with Turkish coffee. They took my advice and will be having a weekend Belly Dancer!
I'll keep everyone informed!!!

 • 2 months later...
I was at Ali Baba yesterday while I was on break at a client.

Atmosphere: 3.5 out of 5. It seemed more of a hookah shop than a lounge in my opinion, they have a wide variety of hookahs, tobacco, hoses, bowls etc.. They have private area called the Kings Room and two dining areas. They may serve alcohol soon and more food options.

Hookah: 4 out of 5. They serve AF, SB, Java and King tobacco. They serve two bowl sizes regular and large, the mixture i got was AF DA and mint which smoked pretty well. Decent clouds and seems like they clean their hookahs often which is a plus.

Service: 4.5 out of 5. I was talking to the owner Emad who is a very nice guy, he was from the area where I grew up. He hooked me up with drinks and brought out coals in a timely manner.

Food: N/A did not try the food yet

Price: 2 out of 5. A large bowl will run you $20 and the regular one is about $16 i think. I think its way to expensive no matter how good the smoke is.

Overall recommendation: 3.5 out of 5. Ali Baba is kind of hidden, its located behind another building. Inside seemed more of a hookah shop than a lounge but it didn't bother me. There's free WIFI, a bar for future drinks, enough seating and lighting. The hookah is pretty good, the mixture was pretty on point and blew out huge clouds. The owner Emad is a nice guy, who likes to talk about everything and pretty damn funny. The only problem I had with the place is the price of their hookahs. If Emad lowers the price I would definitely go there again.
