dakota fanning

Recommended Posts

dakota fanning is appearing in a movie to be released soon called "hounddog". i dont know if anyone has heard of it, but it is a story about an abused child who finds solace in elvis presleys music.
the controversy comes from a scene in which dakota is raped, and is shown in her underwear. some people say that it is child pornography, and her parents should be punished, others say that this topic wont go away by not talking about it, and it does need to be addressed.

the movie is almost done shooting, and the rape scene is already shot. what do you think about the movie so far (keep in mind, it has not yet been released, so none of us have seen it) and the ensuing controversy?

It really depends on how they depict it. If it seems like they are going for shock-value, it really would be innappropriate. If they are really trying to portray the horrors of rape and child abuse then I don't disagree with it. I havn't seen War of the Worlds but every movie I see Dakota Fanning in, she always seems so grown up and mature. I think she'll be able to handle the part well.
