Stores And Their Closed Signs

Recommended Posts

Its an old timey expression... when you come calling, it means you stop to visit or shop...its interchangeable with please come again....

Sorry this topic makes me think of a Mitch Hedberg joke:
"I walked by a dry cleaner at 3 AM, and the sign said 'Sorry, we're closed.' You don't have to be sorry. It's 3 AM and you're a dry cleaner. It would be ridiculous for me to expect you to be open. I'm not gonna walk in at 10 AM and say 'Hey man, I walked by at 3 and you guys were closed. Somebody owes me an apology.'"

ever wonder why 24 hours stores have locks for the doors?

cause at night on 3rd shift you need to lock the door and put up a sign that says be back in 5 minutes when you gotta drop a #2..lol i speak from experience from my younger years working at a 7-11

The 24-hour Rite Aid here puts no less than 4 padlocks on each restroom door at night.

That's to keep the miscreants and ne'er-do-well out

Sometimes when I work nights I find fast food places that have their OPEN DRIVE sign on...
but they're closed.....

Very annoying.

One place I have been working at for a week now has a Jack in The Box sign saying OPEN at 2am but it's been closed every night.

I'm about ready to blow the place up from just looking at that sign.
