What A Week....

Recommended Posts

So in the past week... i have gone from no coal burns on the carpet ever to 6. Dropped a few and a couple days later hookah went tumbling. Went and bought a rug to cover them...can't afford new carpet. Plus it's a buffer for coals now.

Plus now for some reason when putting on new coals I get an ash taste for about 15 minutes...don't know why tried different sized holes in the Reynolds HD even tried a screen... freaking frustrating....sorry just had to vent.

Are you using quicklights? If so do you keep the coal on the foil while it is lighting? If yes that probably is the problem either that or it could be your hose.

well, my first few times working with a phunnel and I noticed that w/o scalli ash can get sucked down the hole and give you ash taste until you clean the down part of the bowl...

if its a phunnel...check that, otherwise...dunno

should have specified. Small and Medium Phunnel using Coconaras. I ash about every 20 minutes normally. But I am ashing every 10 minutes, but i never had to do that with cocos before...it's weird.

do you use a mod on it?

if not, then chances are, the ashes are getting sucked straight down into the "stem" part of the bowl and are being trapped there. I was having that problem over the weekend (my first phunnel)...

I don't use a mod...it just taste like no matter what i do ash is falling in the bowl and i smoke through it but that first few minutes of a new set of coals is just bad.

I find CocoNaras become dangerous towards the end of their life. I've had many explode on me when picking them up.

Say whaaaa? They actually explode or they crumble when touched?

I think what he means is halfway through lighting they'll just pop into two peices. It has happened to me a few times, the half top of the coal just jumps up and lands like a foot away unlit. It gets annoying after a while.

No, once the coals have been on the bowl for about 45 minutes and are smaller in size, if I pick one up to move it or ash it, sometimes they'll just crumble into many little pieces which like to fall and burn my floors.
