srawas89
I have another coal question which isnt related to my previous post. I have heard that there are new quicklights out there that use some kind of vegetable oil to help light the coals or something. Its supposed to be cleaner than other quicklights since it doesnt have as many chemicals light the coal. Anyway I was wondering if any of you have heard of any of these coals and some advice on it. Should I get some? and are they better in terms of heat management? etc.

aethiolas
I don't care for quicklites personally but the golden coals are amazing compared to other quicklites. Honestly, other than the fact that they don't burn as slow, they compare fairly well to the exoticas b/c there is VERY little taste. I highly recommend them. Joshmmc
stick to natural coals, quick lights are terrible. shorter life span, less heat, more ash, more toxic chemical release.
esheg4ever23
Or look into Three Kings. Best quick lights IMO.
liquidglass
I don't know what these guys are talking about when it comes to Golden coals. If you're going to stick with quicklites then they're your best bet. MORE heat than naturals for the equal size. And they last as long as a natural would of the same size. srawas89
ok I have been using 3 kings but I have noticed a decrease in quality lately...I just might be buying fakes however I am worried because I have heard of more passable fakes these days especially for 3 kings. Ill try the golden coals out. if not I will find a better way to light my naturals.
