Ebay Hookahs

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any good experiences with ebay hookahs? I just bought one from what seems to be a credible store. They had a pretty nice package deal too .. 6 boxes of soex, 100 coals, extra seals and grommets, 3 coal screens + 2 hose hookah 22"

It looks like a nice hookah, not like some of the other crap I've seen on ebay. If anyone wants to look at it look up "blue magic hookah" in ebay search. It was on sale when I bought it though.

Yeah thats a Caravan hookah, there's some reviews on them in the vendor section. The hookahs are Chinese (Edit: they sell Egyptian ones instead now?) and aren't top quality, but there are many vendor users that have had good results from those. I have a large one that I bought from them which smokes quite nicely, there are pics of it in the Canadian Trades section of the forum.

FYI, DO NOT use those coals.. they will explode, they will stink things up, they will ruin your hookah session. Rolland quicklights = god awful. Soex is herbal tobacco and not the greatest as well.

Caravan Trading is the only good ebay hookah seller. I personally know the owner of the company which is based in Fullerton, CA. Good guy and he hooks up well. A few members here have their pipes and are quite happy with them. My friend owns two from them. They are handmade egyptian and are good quality. Sometimes they actually send tobacco instead of Soex which is quite excellent. Buy from them with confidence. I bought a keychain mouthtip for myself and a couple pipes for friends and I was quite happy.

I can't say that I've ever used good coals then. All I've had access to so far is a shop in town that sells some cheap off brand quick light coals and then some japanese silver ones. Both of em are pretty stinky. I'll have to see how bad these coals are for my self. I wish I would have found the websites first before I bought this hookah but oh well.

When I say the coals will explode, i mean they will explode... I don't know if its pockets of chemicals inside or what, but the few times i've tried them they have been a pain to light, they break apart as they spark over, and a couple times when breaking apart pieces as big as 1/3 of the coal have shot off and burned people.

They claim to... They even have a big guide downing chinese hookahs and explaining how to tell the difference between and Egyptian hookah and a chinese hookah. They are either lying outright or telling the truth. They seem honest enough but you can never be sure.

Caravan sounds familiar... but about a year back a hookah seller on eBay got banned for selling crap to everyone. Judge by their feedback. I do a lot of selling on eBay, read the negative complaints about any seller, sometime those are the people that realize they got duped! He has a lot more neutral and negative feedback than I would go with, but because of their sheer quantity, odds are you might get a good deal.
