hilikus
What's up everybody, I'm pretty excited about running into this forum - it looks like there is some excellent hookah discussion going on. I do have a question though - and I'm sorry if it's posted elsewhere, I just did a quick search and didn't see it. I'm not necessarily new to hookah, but I just bought my first one about a year ago. It was a pretty basic 22 inch egyptian off of hookah-shisha for about $60. SO, now that I'm really into all of this I'm looking to buy a new, more advanced one. I'm trying to spend about $120, and I'd like something a little bigger. Style and smoothness is vital, of course. Anyone have any suggestions/where to buy it from? Appreciate it. Rani
You can pick up either a KM or an MZ plus shisha etc. for that amount. I've heard rumors of KMs rusting lately but you couldn't prove it by anyone I personally know. Certainly mine aren't!'Rani
staygone
Check out the oracle at mnhookahs or the hookahs at social smoke.I'm getting the paragon soon, its one of the Myas with a good base. It's at hookah-shisha.-QM

staygone
MZ is magdy zidan, they're a brand of egyptian hookahs.Check out the Gyro also at hookah-shisha. It has a fancier stem but shorter (4 inches shorter) than the Paragon. I actually like the Paragon's stem more than the Gyro's.-QM
MechAnt
MZ stands for Magdy Zidan which is a brand name Egyptian hookah. One of two well known around these parts. They are known for highly polished, clean welds, and great quality overall. KM is Khalil Mamoon which is rather similar to MZ. Both are great. zeppyrkr
again not to sound like a mya fanboy but if you want a solid pipe to last long time i think mya is the way to go, but people love to bloat about there km and mz. not saying they are bad or anything its just the fact ive never used one so i cant suggest them for that reason. jerrysalem
I am delighted with my Mya Gyro. It's a little more than your budget, but well worth it. Got mine from hookah-shisha. Cleaning is a snap, and it smokes great once you set it up-search the forum for how to do this, heat management varies by hookah and by what bowl you put on your hookah.Lots of people rave about the phunnels, if I were in the USA and didnt have to worry about shipping costs for a small item, I'd get one. Also, I got the Romman apple from hookah-shisha and am not that happy with it compared to the Al Fakher line. Just my 2 cents.
hilikus
So looking at the Mya Vortex, would that one be worth it? Anyone ever had one of these?
oolatec
QUOTE (hilikus @ Jan 20 2008, 10:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>So looking at the Mya Vortex, would that one be worth it? Anyone ever had one of these?Avoid the MYAs with frosted bases as those are made at a new factory and are prone to breakage. I like the Gyro, and the Paragon. Check those out at Hookah-Shisha.com...As well as some of the Syrians or Egyptians at Social Smoke... SS has a bunch of Magdy Zidans, but they don't specify that fact in their descriptions... but a discerning eye can catch them... a few examples:Syrians: Of which I have the white marble one... and LOVE it...http://www.shopping.socialsmoke.com/cat--S...ianhookahs.htmlAnd a few of the MZ Egyptians that I think are nice:Minerva:http://www.shopping.socialsmoke.com/item--...kah--SB916.htmlAurora:http://www.shopping.socialsmoke.com/item--...kah--SB914.htmlAnd the XL Single-hosed:http://www.shopping.socialsmoke.com/item--...kah--SB910.htmlBut poke around SS a bit... they have a ton of customization options... and feel free to PM Ali here... he goes by the screenname "Social Smoke". My next one will be the XL Single-hosed with one of the Bohemian bases... I already have 2 Syrians, a Mya, and some other one made in China... All I'm missing now is a nice Egyptian. jerrysalem
I haven't heard a bad thing about the Mya Gyro that's why I got it. I had a few hookahs the past few years but finally decided to get a good one that will last a long time and work well, and this one is great. Don't skimp now and then go out and buy what you really want later, if you can.
