Tangiers

Pretty amazing thread, I read all 14 pages worth today. I'm pretty glad that I fall into the "haven't had problems ever" category. Also glad to find out this may be due to my lackadaisical approach to acclimation (dump shisha in a gladware tub, let it sit for a while before smoking). One further note. I recall a great number of people having "ketchup" issues with AF Grape that continued for over a year -- including me. I never saw any response in any forum or email from an Al Fakher official at any level, let alone the President of the company. I think this thread qualifies as a stupendous customer service effort from Tangiers. Well done. I think I'll toast it with a large bowl of White Grape

The other day I noticed that my AF Syrian was smoking very loosely. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the downstem had a long split, approximately 75% down its length (see below). Has anyone ever had this happen before? Am I screwed, or can this be repaired?

I've had good luck mixing Sour with Juicy Peach and also Passion Fruit. I keeps some around all the time

I grab pinches of the shisha and place it in the phunnel all around, then I press down slightly with my thumb. No forks or other eating utensils involved. Given all of the difficulty finding a good grape (read: ketchup-y AF), this is quite a find. Rating (1 to 10): 9/10. Highly Recommended

Desi Murli Spicy Apple Cut: Fine, dry Hookah: 31" Syrian Duration: .75 hour Bowl: Tangiers Small Phunnel Foil/Screen: double layer RHD foil Coal/Amount: 3 AF Coconut coals Smoke: Medium Buzz: Mild Smell/Flavor: Rich Tobacco flavor, cigar-like. Rating (1 to 10): 7/10. Can't detect much apple or apple spice flavor. More of a traditional jurak flavor. $4 for 300g not bad though

Based on my own apple-fest comparison: NO TO LOW ANISE: Tangiers Yellow Apple (Personal Favorite Apple) AF Golden Esk Apple Al Ajamy Esk PROMINENT ANISE: AF Bahraini Apple Nakhla Bahraini (Jar) Salloum Bahraini EXTREME ANISE: AF Double Apple Nakhla DA (Jar) Honorable Mention: Tangiers Green Apple Candy + Tangiers Sour mix. Its not straight-up apple flavor, but its an enjoyable smoke

Tangiers White Grape Cut: Medium, wet Hookah: Large AF Syrian Duration: 1.0 hour Bowl: Tangiers Medium Phunnel Foil/Screen: double layer RHD Coal/Amount: 3 Coconaras Smoke: Thick Buzz: None Smell/Flavor: OMG. Like Welch's White Grape Juice Rating (1 to 10): 10/10. Grape done right. After a year of smoking other brands with weak or funky flavors, it is great to get a powerhouse flavor from Tangiers. Will stock up on this one

Tangiers Apricot Spring Blend Cut: Medium, wet Hookah: 26" KM Precision Duration: 1.0 hour Bowl: Tangiers Small Phunnel Foil/Screen: double layer RHD Coal/Amount: 3 Coconaras Smoke: Thick Buzz: None Smell/Flavor: Spicy apricot smell. Slightly soapy taste. Overall: 6/10. I love Apricot shisha when its done right. This batch, not so much
