  1. I recently picked up a box of chocolate strawberry Fusion and have been loving it ever since, but it's really mellow in a good way. Plus strawberry and not cherry.
  2. I used to use a single piece of cheesecloth held on by rubber bands and it did a great job, but somehow I lost it while moving. Now I have a metal sink strainer like this one: http://www.alwaysbrilliant.com/aa/aspx-pro...ir-Strainer.htm I bent it and have it held on with some tape. It does a great job and is pretty much permanent.
  3. Wow, I remember when everyone was gaga over Starbuzz. How things change...
  4. QUOTE (redjako @ Feb 22 2009, 10:42 PM) Would anyone try (or has) mixing Tangiers with other shishas? Or would that be a waste and stupid hard to manage / get right? I've got some guava Tangiers which would be a nice base for some mixes. I rarely mix Tangiers just because of how different Tangiers smokes, but I have one of my favorite mixes. Called... Berry Muffins 70/30 Tangiers Lucid Horchata / Starbuzz Blackberry It's amazing especially if you put the tangiers on top.
  5. I still have a jar of Bubbleberry I've never finished. I'm saving it for a special ocassion.
  6. I'm in the market for a new hookah after 2 years with a cheap-o $30 acrylic. I'm considering several models, but aesthetically I'm attracted to this shape for the vase: My question is, will that shape allow for enough room for smoke to collect, or is it too narrow at the the top?
  7. I got scared, i thought you were talking about me.
  8. Does anyone know if you can light natural coals on a gas stove?
  9. There's a law here in Connecticut that says -I shit you not- "Smoking is prohibited in private institutions of higher education". Meaning, you can't smoke anywhere on my current campus. Although I smoke hookah every day and they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands to make me stop.
  10. QUOTE (Yoner @ Mar 21 2007, 08:00 AM) Has anyone tried those Smiley's Ultimate Coconut Shell Charcoal? Looking for a new heating method other than QL's... I found it hilarious that no one said it was smileys within like, 2 posts. Anywho, the coconut shell coal is tremendous. I'm used to natural coals and their regular finger shape, the coconut coal comes in irregular pyramid-esque shapes, they heat about 1-2 minutes faster than normal natural coals, they ash similarly to quicklites and last for a long time. They are by far my favorite coals. And at smiley's new HF member price, unbeatable.
  11. Zaghoul tobacco is pretty much strong tobacco made for hookah, absolutely no frills. To make pipe tobacco suitable for hookah use you add Glycerin, the kind you can buy at the pharmacy. If you need more information there's been several succesful homemade batches of hookah tobacco and threads about them, Search is your friend.
  12. I'm really big into Layalina solely for mixing, strawberry plays well with a lot of flavors. The afore mentioned Strawberry + Kiwi is always solid, although I use Layalina Strawberry and Starbuzz Kiwi, mostly because it's an oustanding flavor. Strawberry and Blackberry is good, both berries but Blackberry has a slight sour which brings out the sweet in the Strawberry, you might want to do 1/3 Strawberry and 2/3 Blackberry. Strawberry/Peach is also a really solid combo. And my most common mix is Strawberry and Black Grape. I personally swear by this combo, and if you're going the extra mile with some grape or apple juice in the base, it's magnifiscent. Yes, apple juice, the sweetness plays well with the grape. Trust.
