Homemade Mini Phunnel

Alright, so my friend and I had this great idea. Untitled, a member on this forum, traded some of my shisha for some Tangiers Melon and it should arrive today. Seeing as how I don't have a phunnel bowl, we foresaw a problem. SO! Problem solvers that we are, we made our own out of an old rusted hose, using only the non-rusted tip, and a discount Egyptian bowl. Worked great!! Pics!

dude this is sweet. best concept for faking a phunnel ive ever seen.

Are the adhesives and whatever you used to plug the holes safe and nontoxic (aka what did you use)?

Didn't use any adhesives, actually, so really safe! Just expanded the middle hole with a drill press, then ground down the hose tip just a bit to make a snug fit. Then ground down a huge nail to snugly fit into the other holes. I can take it apart and clean it easily, but fits snugly enough almost no air goes through when blocking the main hole.

Good Job, very creative.

and jftr you can smoke Tangiers out of an Egyptian, that's how I started.

I heard this too, although my roomate just right out bought me a Phunnel before I could try it.

I do, however, like this idea. I would probably just plug the holes with clay and reglaze it, or the like.

I kindly thank Mirus, as this is a great idea, and got me motivated to make my own tonight....

Was relatively simple and took me just over an hour...( had to get the hole the right size)

will use it to smoke tomorrow...but here are some pics..

Hose tip still intact

All in all it was quite easy to do, but a little tedious, as I didn't have the correct size drill bit, but some careful work got the hole the correct size. And I think I am going to plug the other holes with some tin foil blocks...

I will have smoke pics up tomorrow...

Thanks again Mirus for the idea!

P.S. Sorry for the bad quality pic's, I only had my phone available...but I'll try find the digital camera for some more pic's tomorrow..

Followed your idea with the end of a hose. The hype is real. It lasted 2.5 hours and i had to call it quits with more still in the bowl. I used a drill at first to start the hole but thought that it may break the bowl. I then used a dremel tool with a grinding end on it. Made a perfect circle and and dropped in the end of the hose. I found that it was a little loose, not solid so i got a big O ring and added that to the inside. Works great. I was using Nakhla grape and the flavor was second to none using this homemade bowl.
