Bowl differences.

Recommended Posts

hey mush, can you explain a little better the difference? I don't know which I have since I have yet to get EITHER of mine in the mail, hopefully no later than Tuesday!! Then I can smoke my head off for a week with my new toy and then slow down, LOL ;)
Is there a difference in the type of smoking experience you get?

here is a simple explanation, tihnk of a pen and it's cap and how they
connect, on an egyptian, the stem is the pen and the bowl is the cap,
on a syrian or turkish its the other way around

Hmm... personally I would say I much prefer the Egyptian bowls to
Syrian ones. All of the Syrian bowls I have smoked have been funnel
shaped and tend to use up a very large ammount of massell per smoke.
The Egyptian ones tend to use a very small portion of massell and smoke
just as long in my experiance.

One other problem I had with my Syrian bowls is that after a few
months of use the clay underneath the grommet where the bowl plugs into
the stem would start chipping off and fragmenting. Slowly making the
connection point shorter and shorter until eventually the bowl would
need to be replaced.

In my oppinion your much better off with an Egyptian than a Syrian in that regard.

Although I was wondering somthing about  Hookah-Shisha's
Syrians.  Does anybody know if the bowl-to-stem connection is like
all the other Syrians or is it the standard Egyptian type connection?

Ive really liked the look of the Syrian Snake Hookah but I
wouldnt buy one if the bowl connected to the stem like the majority of
Syrians do.

The Stargate hookah advertised in the past, which I purchased (and love) comes with both type of bowls. Since the top of the stem are screw-on, it comes with both adapters for both types of bowles. I'll take a picture and put it up for ultimate clarity :)
