I've been snooping around for about two weeks, gleaming tons of information, and thought it was time that I said "Hello".Being a pipe smoker, I've always been interested in the water pipe and decided to give it a try. I recently bought myself a 26" Egyptian from Hookah-Shisha and have been experimenting with it. I wasn't too impressed with the experience at first, but I am also aware that there is a learning curve when one tries anything new. (And besides, I like the sound of the bubbles!) I had to regrind the middle hole in my ceramic bowl as it was completely sealed off from the glaze. Once I did that, I had greatly improved results. Add to that: heat management, foil vs. screen, how long to inhale, water temperature, and learning when to use the blow-by valve, and you've got quite a bit of room for trial and error.But suffice it to say; I've been bitten by the hookah bug, and I like it! I have to admit i've about stopped smoking my pipes completely since taking up the hookah... a shame really.
