Added a large ICE Chamber to my hookah.

Recommended Posts

I'm sure we've all seen those hookahs out there that have a special chamber right below the bowl and tray where you can put ice to cool the smoke before it hits the water, but one day I was very bored and decided to make my own version.
Although with mine, the smoke hits the new chamber after the hookahs original chamber. So it's simply double filtering with extra ice and water.
As you can see in my first picture, I took a plastic container that I found in my room, a Li Chee Jelly jar (an asian snack thing), put the lid on, cut two holes in top which would accomodate a flexible piece of tubing from home depot that goes all the way into the container and into the water, and another hole where my regular hookah hose can just fit on the top of. Heres what it looks like:

And finally, here is a picture of the entire setup:

As for performance, it worked better than I had hoped. You just put the hose down into the water an inch below the water level just as if you were filling your glass chamber with water. It wasn't extra hard to pull on at all.
In my pictures above, I didn't use ice as I didn't have access to any, but I still wanted to test it out to make sure it works. It did. But the next day my friend filled it just under half way with ice and water and we smoked, it was amazingly smooth and cold.
I highly reccomend anyone who has very basic supplies ( a container and some extra grommets) to try this setup. The hardest part was when I drilled the holes in, I had to spend some time fileing the holes out larger to make the grommets fit with the hose in them. It also looks cool :)
Happy smoking everyone!
