1. Was this because of the smoking ban? Many of the places that offered hookah down here in Charlotte have taken it off the menu also.
2. I only used quick lights but am planning on switching over to naturals. In order to use your kitchen stove to light them it has to be a coil? What happens if you try to light them on a flat electric, damage the surface?
3.
if you're dead set on the bell vases...there's not much selection for KMs.... however, if you like different style bases, check out sahara smoke...
Now thats what I'm talking about. Some great looking bases on that site, thanks for the heads up! The red ones tpatt linked to are just what I was looking for. Now just need the $, lol. Might have to wait a bit...
4. I'm a little late with these after a busy weekend, but my km came on Friday so here are some pics. Easy draws, good buzz, absolutely no regrets with this purchase.
5. What price range are you wanting to stay in? I recently went through the same process, looking for a trimetal. But I was looking for something over 30". Most of the trimetals I saw were of that size or larger. Here's some links to a few of the pages I was looking at: http://www.hookahjohn.com/Khalil-Mamoon_c8.htm http://www.hookah-shisha.com/c-522-khalil-mamoon-hookahs.html http://www.hookahcompany.com/egyptian_hookahs_1_ctg_1.htm
6.
John has a lot of interesting bases http://hookahjohn.co...h-Bases_c19.htm
Yeah, I saw his, but John also seems to love the color green And 4 of the non green ones are "out of stock". Definitely nicer bases though, just wish there were more options.
7. So I just ordered my first Hookah! It's a KM from Hookahjohn, the green Americana "34 tri-metal. http://www.hookahjohn.com/Khalil-Mamoon-GREEN-CAMEL-Americana-Trimetal-34-Inch-15015.htm I've been doing a lot of research on here the past 2 weeks, and found some great info, so thanks to all who contribute. There have been a few posts suggesting against buying a KM as your 1st, and getting a smaller, cheaper hookah to learn on. But my other hobby is photography and if I've learned anything from that, it's buy the top of the line the FIRST time if your going to stick with it, otherwise you will end up spending more $$ in the long run. (and I certainly learned my lesson on that one...) I was dead set on getting a KM trimetal, that was the easy part. I loved the look of the trimetals and they got a lot of good reviews. The other feature I was looking for was more red in the base and hose. It wasn't really a big deal, but I think the red goes better with the gold on the stem. Unfortunely there just wasn't much selection on the online hookah sites for red bases. I was originally looking at this one at hookahcompany: http://www.hookahcompany.com/lotus_khalil_mamoon_hookah_4336_prd1.htm Verrrrrrry tough decision between those 2, but I ended up liking the "etched" stem on the Americana more. John only had the Americana with the Green base, and a gorgeous blue one but that was sold out. So my 1st question now is, where can you find a large assortment of bases? All I see online are bland/generic bases and not much selection. There seams to be plenty of hoses, but the bases seem to be lacking. I'm in no rush to change this, but this will be my only hookah for a while, so at some point I may change it. To go with the Hookah, I also ordered 3 250g packs of AF: Mint, Golden Eskandarani Apple, and Caffe Latte. Anyone know how long it usually takes to ship from hookahjohn? As soon as it gets here I'll post some pics. I haven't seen many posts or pics on here for the Americana.
8. Hello all, just joined 2 days ago to learn more about the Hookah world and hopefully be able to contribute some too. I read in the rules that you are suppose to post in the 1st 24hrs, but couldn't find the "post topic button". Luckily I saw in the forum comments section that others are having the same issue and how to work around it... Anyway, I became a casual cigar smoker a couple years ago and would enjoy one about once a week. But when my friend inherited a Hookah last year we both got hooked! Needless to say, my cigar humidor has not been touched in months... I'm now in the market to buy a Hookah myself, and have learned a TON over the last 2 days here on the forums, so thank you to all who post. Hopefully soon I'll be able to post some pics and a review of my first. Mo
