Hey, just registered today.  Been reading random posts for the last 7 months, just never bothered to register or post.
Just saying hi I guess, I'm kinda bored.
As for my hookah situation, I just lost my "catepillar" the other day.  It was an older 34" rotating, single-hose hookah with an egyptian bowl.  It seemed kinda old as I bought it from a hookah cafe.
I bought "catepillar #2" the other day, a 32" egyptian hookah.  It's not as nice as my rotator, but will suffice till I have enough money to hopefully get a stargate.  Only issue with this one is the tiny bowl it came with.
The one question I have is, how do you spark up finger coals?  I understand a blow torch or stove is necessary.  Now how do I hold a coal over the stove top for the extended amount of time without burning my hands?  Any suggestions?

hey rap master. the way you light finger coals is if youre gonna use a stove, either get a coal holder, its something like a round or square metal pan with a handle you put the coal in it and put it on the open fire of a stove until it gets red hot. Or do wat my lazy friend does, just set the coal on the stove wit the tongs, and turn it on. then turn the fire off and pick it up with your tongs but i dont think this is such a good idea. you can hold the coal with tongs over the fire, or just get the coal holder. some people on this site have small gas things, its like a round coil that gets hot you can find one of those, sorry for not being discreet im just giving u some ideas.
Just in case anybody is wondering, I'm barely
18.  A lot of my friend's are 17, I was at a friend's house.
Parent saw the hookah, flipped, and threw it away before I could get it
back (I was out for a bit).
I just put the finger coals directly on the heat coils.  A
blow-torch takes forever to get the coals redhot,  and it must be
redhot before sticking it on the foil.  Leave it on the coils for
around 4 minutes,  or until the coal is almost redhot all the way
around.  The only problem with this method is that if you live
with your parents,  your mom might not appreciate you dropping ash
all over her nice clean stovetop.  But it's the best way to heat
up the coal.

Don't quote me on this,  but I suppose in your circumstance,
you could possibly take a piece of Heavy Duty Reynold's Wrap Foil and
place it over the fire with 2 corners of the foil rolled together at
the top so that you can easily lift it off the stove when the coal is
redhot,  and then carry it over to your hookah.  If you don't
have Heavy Duty foil,  then try a cast iron pan.  Cast Iron
won't warp over the heat.  If you don't have cast iron,  then
take a small pan that you don't mind ruining preferably stainless steel
and place your coal in that.  It'll probably take longer than 5
minutes to get redhot, but that's about all the alternatives you have
at this point.  If you have a credit card, you could go online and
order a coal carrier.  Go to:

www.SaharaSmoke.com

and click on "Hookah Accessories" and then look for "Charcoal
Burner".  You'll probably need some oven mits to hold it over the
flame.

Or go to:

Once again,  with a credit card,  if you have one,  you
can find some pretty awesome deals on the internet.  Just $27.00
for a portable electric stove that'll fit right on your desk next to
your hookah or wherever you keep yours

I use the tup portion of a steamer pot. Its the pot with the holes in
it and put it over the gas stove. I can light quite a few coals as I
have 3 hookahs and can transport the coals with eas as it is a pot with
a handle. Good luck.
