I'd stay away from the 3rd choice as well, I heard the Sultan models of Stargates had the worst luck of falling apart. If you're going to get a super tall hookah around the 30" mark, make damn sure it's got a wide base! And IMO, 2+ hose models are just as good as single hose models if you just get a stopper for the other hoses... or double fist it, that's always fun too Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've got a 36inch khalil maamoon with the acrylic inserts very similar to that SS one you pictured. It's awesome. Plus with the stem adapter you can keep the check valve and replace it for when you want to smoke by yourself. The bases are wide enough on these vases to not be much of a risk. Plus make sure you get one of those rubber base protectors. They really helps if the base isn't 100% flat (i've never seen a hand blown glass base that was).Check to see if any of the one hosers either the khalil or the SS models will take a stem adapter.Good luck happy smoking.Nick Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
afreet Posted March 14, 2007 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I got 2 hookahs from Caravan Trading off of Ebay. 30" 1-COBRA Hose RUBY ARABESQUE33" 3-Hose BLUE NIRVANAI picked them up from their warehouse in Fullerton and was surprised when the owner invited me to walk around the aisles and choose my own base, shaft, and hoses without charging me anything extra as long as I stayed in the same size glass and shaft and same hose type. I ended up choosing fancier hoses on the Blue Nirvana but it only added something like $10 to the total price. He had a hookah going and a group of college kids hanging around so we smoked and talked while the owner put my hookahs together.This guy has a couple of warehouses just for hookahs. If you live in the area, you should definately check them out because what they have in the shelfs is way more than what they show in Ebay! Their prices are really low compared to what I saw on websites and then found out that this place is a supplier to a lot of guys that have websites and smoke shops cuz a bunch of them came to pickup orders while I was there. MrBubbler Posted March 14, 2007 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hafa Khalil Mamoun, i just got one thats alittle taller and has an ice chamber at the top from cafesedan. let me tell you that thing hits like a mack truck! with ice in the base and up top the smoke feels like a car airconditioner temp. also the hookah takes no effort to draw, i smoked with my acrylic and my mamoun next to each other and was shocked at how much force was needed to hit the acrylic compared to the mamoun (the mamoun hits like your just normaly breathing no additional pull required) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I might even have to get that social smoke hookah with the acrylic inserts. They are all just so beautiful im gonna need to have all three. My Mya hookahs are now mere decorations As Allia said, the other one is kind of a gamble unless you can find someone who has one. I'd say go with the KM or a Social Smoke Egyptian and forget about that mystery machine from Hookah Kings. Comparing the KM to SS -- The KM doesn't come with as many accessories... the tongs I got with mine are the really cheap crappy kind, but if you already have tongs it doesn't matter. The cleaning brush is nice, but you only get one for the stem; I've seen the cleaning brush sets from Social Smoke, and they look realll nice. Hookah Company are supposed to send you a free Al Amir 50g pack, but they forgot mine. They also sent me the wrong hose, one half the price of the one I paid for, and are not responding to my emails. When it comes down to it, I've never smoked out of a Social Smoke hookah so I can't directly compare how they function, but they are pretty solid from what I hear. My $0.02i agree, but with like 6 or more people, you start to get antsy wondering when the shoe will come back to you. fellowship is great but with people who really like hookah, they want to smoke the thing.
