Reapermanx Posted March 7, 2005 Share Posted March 7, 2005 About half a year ago I was at a party and someone had a hookah and I tried it and it took me till about a month ago to order one. I got a three hose from hookah-shisha Sphinx with a genie bottom. My friend also ordered a different 3 hose the Abyss. His is 34 inches and mine is 26. So now from this month of smoking I have come up with a list of questions I have been unable to find answers to. First when smoking my hookah we get what we call a "Hookah High" which is a really relaxed feeling in the first few minutes yet when smoking from his hookah the High takes much longer to come. Is this because height of the hookah? Or because his is a Mod Hookah and mine is an Egyptian? What is the effect of Height of the hookahSecond Do the amount of hoses matter? Does a 3 hose work worse then a 1 hose or is there very little difference and if using a 3 hose with 2 outlets plugged will it function as well as a 1 hose? Third We have really enjoyed smoking and when we first tried Ice in the Base the experience got even better. This led us to want to get a Chiller hookah. I can't find any reviews of hookahs online to see if a chiller hookah functions well.Fourth What is the difference between Premium and Traditional Tobacco?Fifth How do u go about mixing tobacco. We tried sprinkling two different flavors in the bowl but it either tasted like one flavor or another depending on which tobacco was directly under the coal is there some easy process to combine flavors?Sixth I was wondering if anyone knows of any legitimit studies done on hookah smoking to test for long term effects of smoking. I have read basically two sides of the argument one saying it has absolutly no harmfull effects and others saying that it is just as bad if not worse. Hence, the bigger head buzz. 2) If you plug up a hose, it's the same as it not being there. The difference is negligible. I can't find any reviews of hookahs online to see if a chiller hookah functions well. 3) Never used one, but I've heard good things. You can usually get the same effect with the ice in the base. Also, putting the hookah in the fridge cools it down A LOT. Try it sometime. 4) Premium is better. You can't go wrong with Al-Fahker or Romman. Fifth How do u go about mixing tobacco. Use less of the dominant flavor, otherwise you won't get any of the other flavor. 6) Make no mistake, this isn't healthy. You're still inhaling smoke into your lungs. In the grand scheme of things you can smoke though, this really isn't that bad. As for long term effects, I can't imagine anything to terrible, as long as you do it in moderation. Damn, I would cut back, but I'm so addicted to Romman that it's nearly impossible for me to smoke less. Romman's Double Apple is SO F**KING AMAZING!!! Im workin on building up a respectable collection of flavors i think my next order will pretty much be 1 of every flavor of tobacco 50g and 250g of sweet melon of the rommon brand. Order these flavors: Grape, Apple, Margarita, Melon, and Pineapple. I think you'll be very happy when you smoke this stuff. It's very smooth and flavorful. Just bought a chiller 3 hose this afternoon this habbit is quickly getting to be more and more expensive. For storing the tobacco mini ziploc bags will do the trick right? and for how long? But, it was suggested to me in the past to store the unused shisha in aluminum foil inside of a ziplock bag for freshness. Right now its a total experimental thing. Anyone know anything about foil and which to use? is there anything that i can buy in a normal store ive heard some of the aluminum foil can be hazardus. alheimers(miss spelled) what do u use? I use regular store-bought aluminum foil, not the heavy-duty stuff. www.Hookah-Shisha.com sells 100-pack pre-cut sheets of hookah foil. I like using those because it's very convenient. cypress Posted March 8, 2005 Share Posted March 8, 2005 Answer to question 3: I have a different opinion about this than probably most. Looking at it in a scientific perspective you will get more cooling of the smoke by just adding ice to the base. You will get more convection though this method because of the bubleing in the water. In my opinion with the chiller being close to the head it will rob the heat that the coal needs to warm up the ma'assel.
