Canadian Hookah Cafes

Recommended Posts

Are there any Canadians out there that can list some hookah
cafes.  I live in Kingston now and I know that there are none
here.

I know there must be some in Toronto Ottawa and Montreal at least.

Any info would be appreciated.

Peace

R.

Review Wise: I have been to the Hookah Cafe in Montreal at 1699 St Denis, Montreal, H2X 3K4 Phone#(514)287-726...it is an amazing place that got me hooked on Hookah Smoking to start with. Good ma'assel, I think you pay $10 which is decent, the decor is amazing with pillows, platforms so you can sit on the floor , candlelight, great coffee etc good music, friendly staff, fairly good selection flavour wise and quite sophisticated
Aladdin in the GTA (adress below) I have heard very negative things about...a group of friends went there and got violently sick from the hookah and didn't like the atmosphere....
I haven't been to any other lounges but this is what I got straight from the hookahculture.com Lounge directory (http://www.hookahculture.com/hookah_lounges.htm)
TORONTO and area
LAYAL EL SHARK 1883 Lawrence Ave. E. 416-751-0307Small cafe with shisha, drinks, and small appetizers. Just starting to host a night with a bellydance show on Thursdays around 10:00 pm.
OM KALTHOUM CAFE 2175 Lawrence Ave. E. (at Birchmount Rd.) 416-750-4403Small cafe with shisha, drinks, and small appetizers. Just starting live entertainment on Thursdays with Mayada dancing at 11:00 and a band!
Aladdin 3085 Hurontario St, Toronto Ontario. Phone 905-275-4700. Shisha is good, but service can be spotty at times. Worth a try!More information is appreciated.
Oasis Juice Bar1961 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, 416-752-4700Their sheesha is good, food is also pretty decent.  The restaurant is a bit cramped but sometimes they have live entertainment which is nice.
Aladdin's Palace Restaurant3560 Victoria Park Avenue, North York, Ontario, 416-498-9899Their sheesha is good. On weekends they have a live band and belly dancer.

This place is NICE! WOW!

MONTREAL
Gitana Café 2080 St Denis near Sherbrooke.Run by an enthusiastic Turkish family. They sell 12 different flavours of shisha, including grape, rose, and banana (the owners recommend the mixed orange-apple-apricot flavor) at $7.50 a smoke. "Le propriétaire est vraiment gentil."
Arabisque 1241 GuyDespite its shabby exterior, boasts large, comfy couches and plenty of Arabic music and décor (including miniature Egyptian statues). They have all the classic flavours, plus some pretty funky ones like cappuccino. Arabisque also sells food and has a pool table.
Ramses in Broussard. Any further information is appreciated.
Nargileh - a small lounge in a strip mall near the West Island suburbs of St. Laurent, just a few minutesoutside of Montreal. Sorry, address unknown but the shop sits between a Lebanese restaurant and anEgyptian restaurant (which serves amazing crepes called "fitir"). Any further information is appreciated.
Capsule from a local:  Baba Kabab is pretty good and the atmosphere is traditional. Zahra on St Catherine sucks. Kafeine on Bishop has a cool atmosphere but the sheeshas are AWFUL. There is a couple of places where you can buy your tobacco, Adonis, but its freaking expensive. There is also SUPERMARCHE AKHAVAN on Sherbrooke and Grand Avenue.
