MilqueToast
Yes. They stay hot too long, crack easily, and are a waste of money. Cheaper clay/ ceramic bowls work just as well if not better.
smiley
Thats all we use at smiley's. The bowls we use get a work out. Everyday from 11am till 2am seven days a week. We have had three bowls break from droppng them or a costumer knocking the hookah over and the Bowl goes BYEBYE. Not one has ever crack due to too much Heat. these are pyrex. they can handle the heat changes that come with smokeing hookah. Smiley ps/ AZ thanks for the order. We are sending you a 50g of one of our Asskickers.
Scalliwag
we used Pyrex thistle tubes as pipes for something else a long time ago and they never broke.
Sonthert
Of course Pyrex is extraordinarily heat resistant, perhaps Kristi was trying to say that the glass itself is brittle.
smiley
Hmm yea maybe. but we still use them everyday with really no problems.
smiley
Hey Eric did you try our way when you were at my lounge?
Sonthert
No, but I have a friend who swears by Smiley bowls...he thinks they're fabulous and he's had me smoke Tangiers out of them before. We'll just call him Mr. Tomasino...no, no...thats too obvious...how about just Mike T? No, we'll just call him Mike. Thats good, then nobody will know that Mike is really Mike Tomasino. Anyways, he really likes Smiley bowls.
smiley
Cool. I just was wondering. I know we all tried that Pharoh peach together at the BBQ. At hookahcompany's shop. We smoked out of a clear Smiley tulip bowl. That was alot of fun. We need to do that again. George can cook up a storm. That was funny that he use finger coals to BBQ with. Then how smple we just had to get the hot coals from the BBQ to smoke.lol Smiley Jefferson Duo
DizzyGuy
Yeah, she must mean that the break easy by mishandling... because Pyrex is what they use in labs in the beakers and such, and I'm pretty sure that they put them through alot more hell than we would
MilqueToast
Yeah, she must mean that the break easy by mishandling... because Pyrex is what they use in labs in the beakers and such, and I'm pretty sure that they put them through alot more hell than we would
To clarify: I wasn't saying that they crack due to heat changes. I am a bit clumsy when cleaning sometimes, and my bowls often fall the short distance from my hands to the sink (yea, my fault), and my ceramic/ clay bowls never break. The pyrex ones always do. Pyrex is used for cooking and in very heat-crucial situations because of it's durability. They are just more awkward for my clumsy hands. Sorry for the confusion. Erica
Ever since I first saw these bowls, I have been quite interested in trying one out, but don't want to spend the money if I am not going to use it...... For people who have used them before, how do they smoke compared to the Regular Tangiers and Funnel bowls?
Macho555
I'm pretty much of the same opinion as erica. I hear so little experiances shouting their praises like I do the tangiers bowls, that it really seems it would just be better to get tangys bowls. I mean, they're cheaper, and almost everyone admits that they are an all around good.
DrunkenWizard
Funnel bowl is better. I smoked out of Smiley's bowls for the first 6 months. That is all we knew about since Smiley's is here in Tucson. I then found this forum and opened my eyes to all the different bowls and what not. I always used the glass screens as well. They were really deep bowls. Stick with a funnel bowl- cheaper and works better imo.
