critterchops
Question #1 I bought my 3 hose hookah from HH and at first the flavor was no existant because of air leaks no matter how hard I push in the rubberstopers if I blow into the hose I can see little puffs of smoke come out. Will these little air leaks affect the taste that much??Question #2 acclimation how long?? I see some people saying a couple of hours and some saying 1 day. Thanks to everyone for all your knowledge past and present
mushrat
smoke out means air in..air in means dilluded smoke and flavour. How much i guess depends on the degree of leakage. Call HH and complain to them..thats what they are there fr and you paid good money. When I get a new batch, i leav it open overnight the first time. After that, If i can give it a few hours lead time I find its sufficient. If i know I'm having folks over after work, ill often open a few flavours before going to work. Makes the room smell nice too
Sonthert
Often wooden stem piece hoses will have warpage or imperfections in the wood, especially if its thinner and cheaper. Wrap the stem piece, or the end that connects to the hose in electrical tape...this evens out the surface. Its better to wrap up and down than to wrap the same circle several times.Acclimate the first time for a day. Then before you smoke subsequent bowls, acclimate for a couple of hours.
