Ok I'm pretty much asking for gramps input here but any other snus fanatics input would be great. I am thinking of quitting smoking cigarettes and also trying to did a way to get nicotine in my system during work with out having to spit. My local smoke shop has generals snus but I'm not sure which one to try first. The selection is small mini mint, wintergreen, and traditional. Which one would you suggest I just don't want to order online till after I try it once or twice

i think overall the best option would be to confront a small dependence on nicotine and work more on that. i never feel like i need to smoke or anything while working or doing other things, and that makes it a lot easier.

I can't stand wintergreen anything, so if those were my choices, I'd choose General original portion. The small mint is pretty good and highly concealable, but again, I can't do one mint after another all day. General is the most popular and for good reason. It's a very satisfying snus.

Buy one can and then look online for more flavors. I like to have three or four that I use in rotation. In a typical day I use probably 8 portions, meaning about one can every three days. Lots cheaper than cigarettes. I still keep a pack of smokes around and smoke one every once in a while like after lunch.

Expect to pay a TON of taxes on snus shipped to your state. Just part of government's love/hate affair with tobacco. They don't want you using tobacco, but they're addicted to the money it brings them.

I do a snus every afternoon at work. I would start off with the Mini Mint Portion and see how it goes. I don't like Wintergreen either, but I do like straight mint. I do the regular mint portion and I would say the nicotine is on par with a bowl of Noir.

The traditional is like getting kicked in the mouth by a tobacco plant on steroids. Even the guy who runs the tobacco shop where I get it says it is too much tobacco flavor. I have a can of traditional if you want it, but it's been opened for a while and it wasnt good when it was fresh. I got it when they were out of mint one time. If they are ever out of mint again, I'll either double up on the mini mint or get wintergreen.

Either way, General is good stuff, I'm glad it's available locally.

If you're going to do anything other than mint, have something to drink handy. I prefer coffee. Some snus is rather salty and can overwhelm you if you don't have something to drink. After a while you don't even notice the salt. Oh, and carbonated drinks + snus can make you get hiccups.

If the nicotine is too much, just take the portion out and rest a while. I once double-barreled Thunder Frosted and thought I was going to pass out. That was about 34 mg of nicotine total, and I have a high tolerance for nicotine.

Some online shops are:

I've bought snus from all of them and never had any problems.

Thanks for all the information. I am probably gonna go for the mini mint for my first one and try it after work so I can see if I could handle it at work haha Edited by Coleman

I dropped off to sleep once with one in my mouth. It was still there next morning by some miracle, but man, it was slimy and terrible.

Some flavors last longer than others. I usually keep one in for 30 minutes to an hour.

White and original are nearly the same. The difference is the white is a little dryer and doesn't juice up as fast.

The mini mint has about half the nicotine of the regular-sized mint. Both are delicious.
