SanguineSolitude
same thing. some sites (elitehookah especially) likes to name their hookahs odd things instead of the brand name. i think its silly because then you dont know what youre looking at by name. like EH calling a peach colored mya qt "the peach delight" instead of peach mya qt. oh well i guess thats advertising for you. i expect its the same. steve07
Yea it's probally the same Companies like to do that for some reason. Which I feel is a disrespect to the manufacture.
EliteHookah.com
It is sort of silly, but I think you'll find a lot of retailors do the same thing. For instance the QT is called "the crown" on hookah-shisha.com, or someone. The reason we did it in the beginning is because a lot of the hookahs we got were brandless and nameless, so we had to call them something. I guess we just sort of do out of tradition now. Also, a lot of names are inconsistent in general, and some just aren't very good. For instance, although I love the QT the name just doesn't appeal to customers who don't know what it is or really describe the product. We do always try and "give the manufacturer credit". For instance, you'll see that our MYA QTs are clearly labeled as such in the item description. This is there for you avid smokers who know hookahs well and have developed a respect for certain models and manufacturers. Unfortunately, most of our new customers still think that MYA is an ancient South American civilization...
EliteHookah.com
Oh, by the way... about the stargate. As far as I know, they are all manufactured by the same company but come to the U.S. through two different distributors (one East and one West). That's where the name difference comes into play. As I was referring to earlier, this is an example of a situation in which the hookah has no real name. Either the distributor (usually), or the retailor has to make one up and apply it themselves. To answer your question, they are all the same hookah. These are actually knock-offs however of an originally white gold hookah that retailed for about $1500. yashman19
^^Just for a little bit of clarification, there was one original 1500buck stargate, which Taqseem company purchased, and had replicated. They then brought them over state-side and wholesale to many different companies who inturn sell them and call them whatever name they want. So yeah, Taqseem company is the only company that makes them, but then sells them to other companies. There are knock-offs however to Taqseem's replicated Stargates. I've spoken with the owner many times, and he says to look out for the fakes, which use really "chinsy" materials. For example the tray. On the real stargates, the tray weighs quite a bit, but on the fakes they are really light weight and flimsy.
