I live in San Diego, near the border of Mexico where only a third of people speak English, while fewer than a third of non-hispanic Americans here speak spanish, we're like 30km from there! When I go to LA and speak spanish to hispanic people, they are surprised because so few americans actually speak it up there. You're doing fine. Welcome to the forum.
