Stainless Steel Downstem - Anyone Using One?

Hey all - great forum here.

Question - anyone using a stainless steel downstem? If so, does it work well? I'll assume that part of the job of the downstem is to cool the smoke, and stainless does not conduct heat as effectively as copper or brass.

thank you, Edited by tmax

I'm actually looking into buying a stainless steel stem myself. I always thought that people used it more for safety than quality. The only thing is that it's hard to come by. From going to various places like lowes/Home depot, I've found that the only stainless steel that would work would be from an 18" to 32" towel bar that costs about 30+ bucks. Online, however is about 6-7 per foot.
