rumor #1: you get "high" from hookah
rumor #2: the coals are flavored and thats all you are smoking (i've had like 5 people tell me that)

^^^Ha ha. #1-a kid friend of my brother has to go eat what-a-burger when he smokes hookah because he gets the so-called "munchies" and can't drive as well. We all laugh about it when he is brought up during sessions.

#2-I will light more coals and people are like "Oh, what flavor is it now?!?" and only ocassionally after the thousands of times this has been asked towards me, do they actually pay attention when I educate them of where the flavor comes from.

An employee at a hookah lounge I used to frequent a while back told me things that people would say to him when he changed their coals. Like: "How do you know what flavor you're putting on there?"

wtf?! people need to get thier shit together.
common sense dictates that if the coals are flavored you would simply put them in the bowl.
no foil no shisha, just a couple of coals.

milk in the vase makes your smoke "thicker"

that shit works for me =p

i don't buy it. how's milk gonna make your smoke thicker.
i want to hear some science.
if anything the fact that milk bubbles up about a hundred times more than water and that smoke goes through the milk, makes bubbles and has more contact with the smoke, just makes the smoke thinner.
oh, but you don't full the base with pure milk?
in no way does putting anything in the base make the smoke thicker.
some can argue cold vs hot liquid, sure, there may be a reason for it, but the substance itself makes no difference
until i see some science.

lemme clarify some.

Like ok the smoke is not thicker in the sense of it being more dense or smokier, if that makes sense. What I experienced was the smoke was flavored and I dunno, felt like...heavier, which could be because my coconut milk was ice cold. I dunno how to explain it, it felt heavy in my lungs and throat and carried a lot of coconut flavor, almost like I could chew it lol.

I've never tried it myself, but milk is a emulsion of water, protein and fat. I suppose it is possible that the heat from the smoke is vapourising fat/protein molecules and you're inhaling that?

One way to know for sure is to work out the temperature of the smoke when it hits the liquid and see if that's anywhere near the point where milk proteins/fats vapourize?

so does the cold milk just make the smoke condense more?

Sheesha is an aphrodisiac.

It makes you run faster and live longer.

That's a rumor?

Damnit. dodgy.gif

Using regular tin foil has chemicals in it so you have to use pre-cut sheets.
