Your best bet is going to be Middle Eastern restaurants, I would guess. I know I saw like a Lebanese restaurant last fall when I was over for work that had hookahs -- I think it was on rue Daguerre, just south of Avenue du Maine, in the 14th. There's an Indian restaurant right next door to it.

Also, while you're in Paris, you MUST check out Amorino (www.amorino.fr). It's the best gelato ever. If you go to the Lebanese place I mentioned above, there's an Amorino at the other end of rue Daguerre. There are a few others around the city -- it's much better than Berthillon.
