Price Check, Hookah Pipe

My Father was given this hookah as a gift, but he is not a smoker, so he passed it on to me. At this point I promptly forgot about it for a year and just recently found it in my closet, I decided to sell it but have no idea what it is worth. I know very little about it, my father told me that it was handmade, and from the imperfections in the glass I am fairly certain this is true.

Its a very solid, hefty (feels about 3-4 lbs), and attractive hookah. I plan to sell it on this thread but would like some input first. I will be posting some rather large pictures below, if you would like the links to a scaled down version PM me and I will see what I can do.

Also includes a removable tray, tongs, ceramic bowl, rubber gaskets, 2 plastic sealed tips, 3 different cleaning wire brushes, and a carrying case. THIS HOOKAH HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED. Please let me know what you think it is worth even if you arent looking to buy it. (Im looking for around $100).

Any posts are much appreciated, thanks smile.gif

From what i've heard, Nour is a pretty legit brand--they make charcoals. do you have the dimesions of the hookah? i.e. how tall is it? From the pictures, it looks pretty small. I'm guessing about 20 inches--I know a shop that sells hookahs like that for $40 or less, albiet not name brand. I googled it and a multi-hosed Nour sold on this site for $90 shipped. Sorry to say buddy, but I don't think $100 is worth it for a small, single hosed hookah.

You might have a rare-ish find if the hookah is made from a brass core. Nours, as I understand it, are no longer made from brass cored stems but only stainless steel. This looks so much like my first hookah that it is making me nostalgic.

Do you not smoke either? If you do, I'd keep it. Gifts from our fathers can be cherished.

If I could afford it, I would buy it.

If you really don't want it, sell it for what you think is a fair price.

When its all assembled its about 20in, I thought maybe it was worth more if it is indeed handmade.

And, David, I smoke hookah every now and then, but not really enough to own one. It was also my pops' idea to sell the pipe as he does not relish the thought of me smoking regularly, but as far as rarity goes, how can I tell if the core is made of brass? It definitely feels heavier than a stainless steel stem of the same density would. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies:)

I have a green based 2 hose identical to this. I picked it up for $60.00, sometime in January of '06 from a local store.

I will testify that the stem is the heaviest Egyptian stem I've ever had, it is also airtight and built solid. The glass on mine is green and VERY thick as well. In all honesty, this smokes better than my Khalil, and my Syrians. I wouldn't say it smokes as 'clean' as the Myas, but it's definitely a hookah worth about $60.
