1. I was looking for a black or blue one and it had to be new since it was a wedding gift. The other thing is that I wanted a nice washable hose with it. Which somewhat narrowed my choice if websites. In any case, I'm sure they'll be perfectly happy with the chic as I'm yet to find a Mya that doesn't smoke well.
2. Nazar is sadly out of stock, but they only tell you that after you add it to cart. I actually wanted it for a wedding gift, but ended up going with the Chic instead. Thanks folks
3. Does anyone know why the mya bambino is out of stock at pretty much all of the more popular places?
4. Its rare to find anything interesting thast hookah related on craigslist around here, so I was totally excited when I saw this: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/for/2410499896.html The guy selling it is out of town this week, but I'm picking it up from him next monday when he gets back. Super excited for that thing!
5. So tobacco is easy to find, if fact a lot of places you'll find it in jars and you can just scoop out how ever much you want. Hookahs on the other hand are harder. Most of the hookah's sold in Israel are either chinese or syrian. I've seen some KMs sold in the markets of the old city, but they cost almost as much there as they do in the US. On the bright side, you should be able to pick up a nice looking syrian hookah for about $40 if you press them hard enough. Best places to look for a hookah are actual arab parts of the country, so look in: Yaffo, parts of the old city and Acre if you happen to end up there. Or you can just the locals, they'll point you in the right direction. Last thing I want to mention, at least some of the chinese hookahs there are quality made. Just make sure the stems are nice and heavy if you're looking at one of those.
6. So while this is somewhat unlikely, its still worth mentioning. Does your shisha smell like its supposed when you open the container, or does the flavor seem weaker? The reason I ask is that the molecules that give something flavor a very volatile, if you seal your container and suck out all of the air every time you smoke, you may be pulling out the flavor molecules with it. It's a fairly unlikely scenario, but its a possibility in your case. Also, when was the last time you gave your hookah a good cleaning? That might help too.
7. The pipe looks fine. It looks to be with in the normal variation of neatness due to them being hand assembled. Also, as mentioned before, its not corrosion its the weld/solder marks and discoloration. If you got it from a reputable vendor you can send them an email with the photos, but it looks like a perfectly acceptable pipe to me.
8. So I went into my favorite middle-eastern food place today and saw a flyer for this place called Flamezz. Its relatively new, the name is cheesy as hell and it looks like they only serve starbuzz. On the bright side, as I was browsing through their pictures, I got more and more convinced that they use KM pears and KM hoses in the lounge. Here's a link to one of the pics. Thought if that is trully a KM? The stamped tray on the closest one to the front certainly looks like a KM tray and so do the heart/purge/hose port. http://www.flamezz.com/gallery/images/26.jpg Anyone from Minneapolis area heard of this place? Or anyone in the business maybe happen to sell them the hookahs could confirm? Thank!
9. www.ballaj.com While most of the hookahs on the site are pretty crappy, they do seem to have KMs for $50. While I don't need another hookah right now, I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with them for future reference.
10. All MYA hookahs will smoke the same, so which model you pick is up to you. Also, most of the MYAs will have autoseal in their hose ports, meaning that unless you're inhaling through that hose port, it'll be sealed on its own and you don't have to worry about it. What I would do, is pick up a MYA acrylic (sadly all seem to be sold out on hookah-shisha), but that a two hose acrylic would run ~$100 and a phunnel bowl and at least one nammor. That should run right about $130 and the nammor will make a huge difference to your current hose.
11. If we had a picture of you hookah it would be easier to tell for sure. Otherwise, its not uncommon for cheaper egyptian pipes have sand in them in order to make them feel heavier.
12. A word of caution, the room sounds very small with basically no ventilation. In such a small space, you have to be aware of the levels of carbon monoxide that are being produced by the candles/burning coals.
13. Or you could just take a piece of foil and wrap it around the bowl..... Best of all, if collapses perfectly flat.
14. This may be a bit late, but Hideaway carries a lot of Myas and general accessories. I haven't been to it yet, but I've driven by a tobacco shop in uptown (corner of Lake and Lyndale) and the pipes in the windows looked like KMs.
