I have not purchased a KM hookah from gothookahs.com so I cannot comment on that, but I would like to comment on their outstanding customer service. I recently purchased a syrian hookah from gothookahs.com. It was my first purchase from this company and I did not know their procedure for order status beyond the initial purchase receipt e-mail. I called them and left a message about the status of my order and received a call the next day at 12:00 eastern (which is 9:00am western, so as soon as they arrived at work). Chuck was apologetic for the delay in my order and stated that if the order did not get out today then they would upgrade my shipping at no extra charge. However, the hookah that I ordered was out of stock and the shipment was delay another day due to them wanting to find out if I wanted to cancel my order, get a refund, or apply a credit towards another purchase, AND they already had a few hookahs picked out for my selection that were similar to the hookah I had originally selected. I was extremely pleased with the detail of service, but later that night when I received my tracking information I noticed that the shipping method was listed as ground, which was what I had originally purchased. I waited until Monday to contact gothookahs and I asked that the shipping charge be refunded due to what I thought was them falling back on their promise. What I later learned was that about thirty minutes before I called, Chuck had already sent me an e-mail offering me a discount on my next purchase and that they had a hiccup with the UPS software. They honored my request for the shipping to be refunded and still offered me the discount on my next purchase. As a consumer, I felt that the issue was with the current order and because of that, the order that should be dealt with was that order, not my next order. But, this does not denote from the fact that gothookahs has no obligation to honor my request. I will be purchasing from gothookahs again, but I will not be using the discount code they gave me. They dealt with my issue and they should not take an additional cut in their profit for another order, when they did more than enough for the first one. You have to remember that by being a business and a member of our forum, gothookahs as well as all the other hookah retailers on our forum, are being held to a higher standard than those that are not. By our posts we control how profitable these companies are and whether they stay in business or not, as we are the vast majority of their sales by both word of mouth on the forum and to friends. We should hear more about what a great job these companies are doing and stick up for them when they may have made a mistake. At the end of the day we are all human, we all make mistakes sometimes, wouldn't you rather have the companies that have proven themselves still in business, rather than dealing with startup companies with no track record?

Well i got a call from chuck at gothookah on thursday and he told me sorry for the delay, but they have been really busy with a lot of orders. My order should be shipped out today and if it wasn't then it would get shipped out on friday and they would upgrade my shipping to account for them taking so long to get the order out. So i get a call today (Friday) from the same guy and he says he is sorry, but the hookah i orderred is out of stock, even though when I ordered the hookah it specifically said in stock... but then again I am not the one who coded their website and i doubt they actually have inventory tied to their website, which all online companies should have if they are going to state available/out of stock, just my 2 cents. Anyway he asked if I would like a refund or if i wanted to order another hookah. He told me about the same style hookah but in a different color scheme and I decided to go with this one. http://shop.gothookahs.com/product.sc?cate...p;productId=298 I had actually looked at it before deciding to order the one I did, but I wanted a bohemian style base, so I confirmed with Chuck that if I got that hookah it would, so hopefully it does. I wasn't too concerned, but I just received my tracking information and discovered that the shipping is still ground and it will not be arriving until next thursday... Not that they have any obligation to upgrade my shipping so that it would arrive sooner, but if you as a company tell me you are going to do something, you better do it. Poorly run business IMO, i just hope the hookah turns out how they said it would, but they way he confirmed it was it is going to have a syrian bohemian base, even though i stated a bohemian vase like the one in the picture of the hookah i originally ordered

I ordered a hookah over the weekend and I have yet to recieve anything past the original invoice e-mail. I know that they were most likely closed on Monday due to Memorial Day, but I figured it should probably have been shippped out yesterday or today. Anyway I tried calling them and it was really loud and the guy hung up after he confirmed my order number, so I called back and left a message. I was just wondering do they e-mail you a tracking number or am I going to have to call them for one? There has got to be some "optimal" temperature that doesn't burn the tobacco but almost "vaporizes" it (i don't know if i can use that word, but i can't think of another word to replace it, i will take the 1 day ban, or just pm me and i will edit the post) Correct me if i am wrong, but when you use a jet bowl with the glass mod the coal is set outside the the hole at which air is pulled through. Because of this the coals do not actually vary in temperature when you take hits b/c there is no way of the air being pull from the coal to heat it up. If you could create a circular mechanism as i suggested early that had a hole in the center that would allow air to be pulled into the glass mod, wouldn't this work the same way? I mean if you had to use this with a jet bowl and in total it cost $100 bucks for the bowl and "rechargeable" coal but you would never have to buy coals again, wouldn't it be worth it? Once i get around to actually purchasing a jet bowl i figure this could be tested with the coil of a hot plate as it would only be in contact with the glass mod and still allow for air to be pulled threw the hole.

Well I did call them on Tuesday (i think) and they said there were a lot of middle eastern holidays being celebrated so they were extremely busy. I ended up getting the order in on Friday, so it took over a week from the date i ordered it, but its not like i NEEDED more tobacco right because I wasn't out. They did however send me the wrong color base protector from the one I ordered (got a green instead of a blue) but I called them up again and they are sending me a blue one and I should get it around mid week.

about 8 months ago me and some engineering friends at purdue were smoking and decided we needed to design a lithium ion powered rechargable "coal" that would have a digital display to set the temperature. We were going to mess around with taking apart a hot plate and trying to the coil and use a setup that would plug in to test this idea, but we never got around to it as school takes up to much time and when i am not studying or going to class i would much rather hookah and play guitar

I didn't really want to read through the entire thread so sorry if i repeat anything someone said. With natural coals you will learn how long they burn and how long they take to light and eventually you can time when to light a coal based off of how long you have been smoking. There are always additional factors to consider, such as how hard someone pulls, which can cause for brief sessions of harshness which can be quickly fixed (i have one friend who for some reason hasn't grasped the concept of slow long pulls and just pulls as hard as he can whenever it gets passed to him, even though he has owned a hookah for over a year). With quicklite coals i have learned to start with one full coal and then add half coals as the smoke starts to hit light. When i add this half coal i put both the smoke full coal and new half coal on upside down and then once it starts to get light again flip both coals. I then add half coals for the rest of the session using the same philosophy. Using this method it smokes perfect 99% of the time without ever having to purge the smoke and no harsh hits. I think any experienced hookah smoker has their own techniques to smoke their hookah effectively and the more you smoke the better you will get at it.

So i ordered some tabacco and another hose from H-S Thursday night and it still isn't showing being shipped or anything yet on Monday night. I know that is only 2 full business days, but for them to take three seems really long for H-S. Is anyone else having delays or should I call them b/c maybe they skipped over my order?
